For the Trekkers

Omg. I am so embarrassed. I didn't recognise Gene Roddenberry's son, Rod*, and told him he had to go into the main hotel to get his parking ticket validated at the Trek convention tonight.

I realized who it was as he was cheerfully walking toward where I directed him. I could kick myself. Oy.

Also, he is cute. Gak.

*Corrected, thanks to a far better Trekker than me.

In other news... The following conversation on Twitter was awesome:

So yet another of my gay friends has got married. I'm beginning to stand out even more as the confirmed ginster (gay spinster). -- Gareth Roberts

I'll marry you. The 200 miles between us won't be an issue will it? -- James Armstrong

You appear to be a flying snowman so it might be feasible. -- Gareth Roberts

(The snowman comment is a James icon reference)

SeaWorld

Came to SeaWorld today. So far I have pet some dolphins and bat rays. I love the bat rays so very much.

Wish I could take them home with me.

Watched the dolphin show Blue Horizons. My second favourite trainer was working. He is too adorable. Didn't talk to him though.

Almost didn't come to SeaWorld today. Feel fat and gross. On the plus side I am wearing awesome grey nail polish. Which is nice.

Drove down yesterday, but felt unseaworldy. Bought books, realised is left my phone charger in LA. Discovered a Best Buy not ten minutes from Linnea's apartment. Bought a new phone charger, the complete season six Doctor Who (i only had the first half season) and a new vacuum.

Today I slept in til 9am, then watched Farscape and headed to Starbucks. Until a half hour ago I thought I wouldn't come to SeaWorld today. But I did. Mostly because I want a better look at one of the dolphin trainers. I don't know him but I swear his doppelganger works at Starbucks. He was working yesterday but nit today. Need to see if it really is the same guy. I have thought so for weeks.

Curiosity is a strong thing.

Harry Potthead

I totally didn't dress up for this latest Harry Potter movie, but I DID see a midnight showing. Well, an almost midnight showing... stupid projector had some issues so it started late.

I also may or may not have really annoyed a couple of people at the theater - BUT I made others very happy. Here's the thing, I wanted to sit middle theater, middle aisle, and was stuck almost middle aisle instead. The two people sitting directly to my right and in better seats asked me to "watch their seats" while they went to their car to get cellphones. CELLPHONES? Why are they needed at a movie? Really. So I watched their seat for 17 minutes and then moved over and sat in them. AJ moved over, too. And the others in our row were all "Woohoo! Better seats!" and moved over too. A few moments later, the couple came back, and all confused like asked me what happened to their seats. I was very nice when I told them that I hadn't thought they'd be returning and gave away their seats. Which was almost the truth anyway. Except that I totally did think they were returning and I "gave" their seats to myself. They had to go find different less cool seats. Sadness, right?

Not going to do a review of the movie. You already have your own opinions or read others most likely. But my beloved Alan Rickman was awesome and the highlight of the film. And this movie is now my second to least favourite of the movies... weird since its my fave of the books, or one of. :)

Still job hunting, which sucks like Percy Weasley. And majorly addicted to Repo The Genetic Opera. :D

GRR ARGH!

I woke around 8:50 AM. Lay in bed petting my kitties and pondering an attempt at going back to sleep. THEN... Ann called me at 9:20 AM as she drove to work and I decided to fully wake up. Chatted with her on the phone for a bit and noticed that my bladder was uncomfortably full. I told her "hold for a sec so I can use the bathroom" and then raced toward it.

Imagine my shock when I realised the carpet in my changing area (and next to the bathroom) was under water. The bathroom floor also had standing water.

Apparently while I was slumbering my toilet decided to overflow. FANTASTIC!

I shut off the water, dressed rapidly and raced to my manager's apt to give her the head's up. The maintenance guy was just leaving her apt so he came with me to my underwater world. I am SOO GLAD I have a Shop n Vac. It not only can vacuum dirt from your rug, but can also suck up water.

I dumped the vacuums dirty contents in the trash, took off the filter and the maintenance guy and I proceeded to suck water. (he'd plunged my toilet a few times while I got the vac ready). Seriously. We filled the vac 6 times rapidly! Then I let him go check my downstairs neighbour's apt and get on with his other work while I finished trying to vacuum dry my rug. I think I had to dump the dang vacuum around 12 times.

Best part? My THREE cat liter pans were in the water. Ick gross yuck.

My carpet is still squishy damp (though I think I dried it as best as I could with the vacuum), but it looks nice and clean! I've washed my bathroom floor and showered. So now I just need to wait for my carpet to finish drying.

What a fucking fantastic way to start the day!

Stupid insomnia. After 5+ hours of tossing and turning in my bed I've given up all hope of sleep. Grr. My fault for sleeping like the dead yesterday afternoon. I'm going to plop myself onto my couch, and try to fall asleep while watching ANGEL. Eventually I'll just have to admit defeat and be up for the remainder of the day.

BAH.

Had a weird dream last night. I was playing with a baby cobra and it got startled and bit me. I had two little red mouth-like puncture wounds on my finger, one nearly under the nail. Hurt like a bitch. I recall obsessing over whether I needed to get to a hospital for antivenom or if the bite was a dry bite and therefore non-venomous. I woke up this morning wondering why my dream baby cobra snake looked so much like a rainbow boa constrictor. Just strange.

Rainbow boas are so very pretty btw.

Not much to blab about at the moment. Thinking of, gasp, canceling my Blockbuster online subscription and getting broadcast cable. Its cheap, won't have the channels I actually enjoy, but then again, I'd get the opportunity to watch tv like a normal person. Its a debate. I'm pretty annoyed with Blockbuster online anyhow. All the shows on my queue are "unavailable" or listed as "short wait" these days, and according to the helpful guy at the store effective Monday the terms of use (getting to exchange mailed dvds in store for free rentals + getting more dvds mailed at the same time) are changing.

Gosh, what an incredibly boring post.

PENIS.

There, that was at least somewhat exciting.

Please, sir, I want some more.

Dear, dear, DEAR, Dear, dear friends:

Please take a moment to think about how much you love me. How much I fill your day with joy, pride, love, hope, peace, happiness, avarice, or lust. Yes, I meant to throw avarice in there.

Now think even harder and comment below. Imagine a reporter has asked you, "tell me your thoughts or feelings about HG?" Then give a brief 1-4 sentence explanation.

An example:

"HG makes me wake every morning with a smile on my lips. The peace I find looking into her eyes is worth every penny I own. If I could, I'd give her all my money just to see her face once more."

Comments are screened for secrecy. But they may end up on the new user information I am formulating in my mind. A warning, if I don't get enough quotes to inflate my ego, I may end up putting words in your mouth. Flowery words. Words like "calliope" and "calligraphy" and "tortilla" and "sold my soul just to meet her."

Thank you.

A. I wish I had a house.

B. I wish I was back in Los Angeles in that house.

I receive emails from the West Valley Animal Shelter about animals that need fostering. Got an email today - they have three 9 day old puppies that need fostering. PUPPIES! Cuteness squared.
