Caben Chester

Vice President, Protective Services

Caben Chester serves as vice president of Protective Services at Guidepost Solutions, where he is responsible for security, risk management, intelligence, and protective service initiatives. In this role, Mr. Chester directs the development and execution of strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate risks to people, assets, and operations.
Prior to joining Guidepost, Mr. Chester served as a senior security executive for a well-known firm, where he directed global security programs integrating threat assessment, investigations, crisis management, and intelligence functions. He developed scalable frameworks to address physical, operational, and external risks and supported decision-making through structured analysis and reporting. He also supported executive protection programs by developing risk profiles and threat assessments for senior leaders and high-profile events.

Mr. Chester spent much of his career with the Department of Homeland Security in senior intelligence roles supporting federal law enforcement operations. In this capacity, he led intelligence activities across multiple field offices, providing analysis to support complex investigations and assess threats across domains including cybercrime, counterterrorism, organized crime, and transnational activity. He also supported interagency coordination, operational planning, and information sharing with federal, state, and local partners.

Mr. Chester managed investigations and intelligence programs, establishing processes for threat assessment, due diligence, and coordination with internal stakeholders and law enforcement, while developing threat management practices addressing workplace safety, high-risk incidents, and sensitive matters. He led crisis management and incident response programs, implementing repeatable practices for identifying, evaluating, and responding to security events, and supported global monitoring operations and coordinated response protocols across regions and business functions. He also contributed to business continuity and preparedness efforts by identifying critical functions, assessing risks, and supporting the development of response and recovery strategies, emphasizing structured analysis, coordination, and adherence to established protocols.

Mr. Chester’s experience across intelligence, investigations, and security operations enhances Guidepost’s delivery of integrated risk and protective services to clients operating across global environments.

Caben was a highly ranked junior tennis player in New England and picked the sport back up after relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area. He now competes in several Bay Area leagues, occasionally reliving his glory days.
