2020 Silicon Valley + Special Operations Forces: Investing and Fielding Innovation

PURPOSE:

The partnership between the US military and Silicon Valley has evolved over the last several decades and recent years. A variety of new organizations and mechanisms – from In-Q-Tel, to DIU, to AFWERX, to Project Maven, to VCs – have begun to rewrite how tech startups can partner the military. However, frictions persist in taking technology developed in Silicon Valley and rapidly deploying it to operators and analysts.

Primer and the Global SOF Foundation are inviting current and future national security leaders to a two-day virtual seminar with the founders, executives, investors and academics focused on developing cutting edge dual use technologies. This symposium will observe Chatham House rules and will discuss:

> The role that the commercial sector will play over the coming decade in developing (and deploying) artificial intelligence solutions across the services
> Mechanisms to accelerate and roadblocks that hinder delivery of dual use technologies into the IC/DOD
> Opportunities to reduce the ideological divide that has emerged over the past decade between Silicon Valley and Washington.

Online Registration is Now Closed. However, if you are Active Duty Military. academia or a GSF Corporate Partner, and would like to participate, please email Ranae Grehl at RGrehl@gsof.org.
