for people new to this, basically, all i want you to do i give me a character and a prompt. the prompt should just be a word like, "lilypads" or something. but prompts aren't even necessary. yeah. i'm desperate.

this time around, i want only comic characters. idc if i know the character or not. it can be DC or Marvel or whatevs. cause seriously, i'd like a decent portfolio if i ever get a chance to have Marvel review it...

Nita wants an art post and i give Nita what she wants.

first picture of my sketchbook is always Emma Frost. this was inspired by a piece turned figure done by Adam Hughes and a cosplay i saw on coscom. i'm actually really, really proud of this, though her right hand turned out iffy. it was marked the start of my realism style and idk. i really want to colour this but i lack the tools so ffff. the flowers are white violets. they mean "let's take a chance on happiness". i like to put symbolism behind my flowers, okay.

Wanda "Scarlet Witch" Maximoff from Marvel fame. i. . . love her and her crazy. this was inspired by another Hughes piece and i messed up on this like, three times and had to redraw it. i drew this upside down so i kept forgetting to flip the fabric upside down. . . and ff it was complicated. anyways, i wanted to do weird-ass designs in the background/floor to represent her hex bolts. haven't. . . gotten around to it yet.

Power Girl from DC. i drew this on the way to Dallas. it's a four hour car ride, man. also... inspired by Hughes. however, i did get the idea from a series special that i read about her or whatever about how she was talking about the breasts being a symbol, and not lewd or perverted or whatevs. i'm paraphrasing really badly but it made a lot of sense when she talked about it. i'll find the pages later. but yeah, i wanted to draw that.

Catwoman from DC. still inspired by Hughes. i love all his pictures of Catwoman. i love how pretty she is and how delicate her facial structure is and just. ugh. so much love. aanyways, i had this idea about this picture of how i wanted to pencil shade her skin, and then leave everything black except for a huge scribble going across her body where you can see her. but. . . it's hard to actually draw it. idk why.

Young Justice from DC. Robin, Superboy, and Impulse. aka Tim, Kon, and Bart. this was inspired by a drawing done by The-BlackCat and i just. idk i love her versions of the DC heroes. especially Young Justice. i love moe Kon. he's so cute jafklas. so this is just a really fun picture i did at the dentist. nothing deep. just. . . something to draw.

Emma Frost from Marvel. old art. idk how this got in this dump. uh, got the idea from another picture i saw. idk what i was thinking when i drew it. just pulled pieces from various pictures of her, including the clothes. not. . . very good.

Damian "Robin" Wayne from DC. this was originally drawn for fanfare so idk, she'd like me more or something. asjfajkl or we'd at least have something to talk about. but ffff. this was supposed to be deep and represent drowning in his father's shadow or blah blah blah /pretends to know something about Batman canon. uhh, the skeletons are the Robins, clearly, and. . . the skulls are supposed to be the path to. whatever. . . idk. i'm not entirely sure. . . what i wanted to do. i just know Dames looks stupid as hell.

Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy from DC. the designs are the Ame-Comi figures, which i love. i love Harley and Ivy's dynamic so i wanted to try my hand at it. . . sort of. i just wanted to draw the pretty outfits; who am i kidding. this got. . . overly complicated and i tried inking it but i can't remember what's what. asfasfsdjkl.

Gambit and Rogue from Marvel. i ship these two. they're fantastic and ffffffff. wanted to illustrate them consumating their relationship but. . . i wanted to like, also draw Gambit dying or whatever to show how it was impossible for them be together. well, now they can. since Rogue can control her powers. but now Gambit's cray cray or something so whatevs. idk, i hate Rogue's face though. and her body. god what.

X-23 from Marvel. god i love this girl. you don't even know. she's fff, she's always beautifully drawn and she has such a tragic history. idk what i wanted to do here though. something with a lab and television sets. and combining two of her outfits. her body got horrendous for me though. so hard to draw perspectives nowadays. . . and yeah, she is cutting herself. it's canon.

this was part of an art trade for her that she finished. . . instantly and her side was fantastic. i, on the other hand, can't finish anything worth a shit. it's Tobias from Animorphs and Carrie "Robin" Kelley from DC. they're bros at paradisa. i wanted to draw this, like, idk bird. . . parallel thing with Tobias and the red-tailed hawk and Carrie and the robins. but i never. . . finished.

Phoenix from Marvel. strongly inspired by Tom Flemming and Gustav Klimpt. i really want to finish this but it's mixed medium and i'm. . . so bad with that cause i never know where to start. i want to do this in water colour and i want to show like, her hair turning into fire and use gold paint and everything, but, omg i'm so bad with that. i need control in everything. i need to know exactly what to do. so until then, this'll stay unfinished.

Black Canary from DC. still inspired by Hughes. this was. . . an interesting piece and i actually really like it. i wanted to show her being powerful and like, one of those strong, independent women and it's. . . idk, i think i got it. she's walking through water or something and i wanted to do wet fabric so i extended her jacket so it'd flow behind her. and idk, breaking into canaries and the skulls and i overplay symbolism, seriously.

Wonder Woman from DC. still Hughes. i really wish. . that i thought this out better. cause the composition is horrid. or at least pulled her down or made the foreshortening better cause i hate how her legs are and i wish you could see her headdress thing. this picture is just. ug. so awful. there is nothing i like about this. abso nothing.

Hellion from Marvel. anyone who knows me knows that this motherfucker is my favourite character in this series. no matter how much people hate him. i love him so much asjfklasjk. but yeah. i wanted to draw his new look before he lost his hands. and aughh, the hands are so ugly. but i think he looks. . . really okay? i mean, i wanted him to look attractive. idk if i managed. cause he's supposed to be in canon and the artists just. . . can't draw. there's supposed to be graffiti in the background.

Rogue from Marvel. this actually isn't the one i have now. the original picture got damaged so i had to draw a new one and i think that one turned out a lot better. her face is so weird in this. i can't seem to fix it. but i wanted to try something looser in this picture. like, with more flow. which is why there's no definite anything here. i dunno; i was experimenting.

mmmn. that's all. i haven't been drawing much. don't have a lot of motivation or i'm just. . . too particular and OCD to finish anything.

And why should it not be dubbed? Because you can understand it? Because Japanese is just so inherently better just because it's Japanese? Personally, I think Maxey Whitehead suits the role just fine because young boys sound like females. In fact, your precious Japanese seiyuu is female as well and sounds just as female and "gay" as the English dub. Are you complaining about the accent? Get over it, it's more accurate than just saying "desu yo." Are you complaining about the acting? Then you're silly, because there's not much acting in that clip. It's an introduction saying "I'm this and this" and doesn't give you a real idea as to how that actor can portray the character. Maxey Whitehead, while a bit shakey at first, can do a really great job once she gets to know her character. I should know. I absolutely detested her Alphonse when I first heard her in FMA:B, but once she settled into the role, she actually did a really great job. Part of it, actually, was probably that I had gotten used to Aaron Dismuke and Jappy-McWhatsername as Alphonse before seeing the English dub, as I'm sure is the case with you. And you may say, "Well, the acting isn't /bad/ but the Japanese acting is /better/." Excuse me, but unless you speak Japanese fluently, you sure as hell would not know. Acting is all about inflection of the voice to portray emotion, and the Japanese language is constructed so differently from English that there's no way of knowing if the way they speak is actually portraying that emotion as they would in Japanese. If you would just give the dub a chance and give yourself enough time to let go of how you think the character is just supposed to sound, I'm sure you wouldn't whine about dubs as much as you do. And you know, even if you don't like the dub, even after giving it a real chance, that's fine too. Just don't go around whining that Funi went and "ruined" your silly little anime. The Japanese version is still there isn't it? That remains untouched. It's not ruined. There's no reason to say that it shouldn't be dubbed just because you lack the proper self control to ignore it. Even if it really is a piss poor quality dub, which it's not because Funimation is actually one of the best dubbers out there IMO, you should still thank them because it brings attention to it overseas and makes merchandise more available over here. And hey, it could've been 4Kids.
