Steve was shaken. He and Danny had only been together a few months and he had already almost lost him. He knew in their line of work there was always a chance of one of them dying, but this was too close.

“Grace?” Steve said when he made it back to the hospital. “Do you mind giving me a minute with your dad?”

Grace nodded. She hugged Danny before leaving.

Steve rushed over to Danny’s bed, leaned down and kissed his boyfriend. “I thought I was going to lose you,” he whispered.

Danny did his best to wrap an arm around Steve. “I’m okay, Steve. I’m here.”

Steve buried his face in Danny’s neck. “I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it all day.”

“Steve, I told you, I’m fine. A few days and I’ll be up and about again.”

“I know. I know. It’s just...Danny, I’ve never felt like this for anyone before. I thought I was going to die if I lost you...”

Danny grinned weakly. “It’s called love, Steve.”

“Yeah, yeah, I know that. I’ve just never been in love before. It’s kinda...”

“Scary? Yeah, it can be. But worth it, isn’t it?”

Steve smiled and kissed Danny gently.

“Ew!”

Both men looked over to see Grace standing in the doorway. They both smiled at her. Steve stood up and squeezed Danny’s hand. “I’ll bring Grace home for you now. Get some rest.”

“No problem there.”

“And Danno?”

“Yeah?”

“I love you.”

There was nothing, not even the pain, that could wipe the grin off Danny’s face.

Arthur sat alone at the bar in his hotel, an untouched glass of scotch in front of him. He waited, not wanting to drink alone. The Inception job had gone as well as it could, all things considering. They reached their goal and everyone had made it out alive. Now all there was to do was wait. They had all gone their different ways at the airport, but Arthur couldn’t help but hope he would be found.

“Hello, darling,” he heard before someone placed a kiss on his cheek.

“Eames.”

Eames ordered himself a whiskey. “At least that’s over with.”

“It wasn’t bad.”

“Could have been worse, I guess.”

They drank quietly, enjoying each other’s company. They didn’t get chances like that very often.

“I need to talk to you in private,” Eames said after awhile.

Arthur nodded and finished his drink before standing up. “My room.”

“Perfect.”

As soon as the door was closed Eames grabbed Arthur and pressed their lips together.

“I’ve been waiting hours to do that,” Eames admitted.

“Me, too.”

“Arthur...this isn’t how it should be.”

“What?”

“Just having random nights in hotel rooms. We’ve already admitted we’re in love, why don’t we take it farther? Stay together. No more months without seeing each other.”

“Eames-”

“We can take more jobs together, travel together. I’m not saying we should settle down, just be together-”

“Eames, shut up.”

Eames stopped mid-sentence.

“Yes.”

“Yes?”

“You’re right. I don’t like being apart. It’s a stupid risk, but yeah, let’s do it.”

Eames grinned and pulled Arthur in for a heated kiss. “Perfect.”

It had been the roughest case of Danny’s career. A serial killer killing off children, all around Grace’s age. Every small body he saw reminded him of his daughter. He was glad Grace was safe on the mainland for a few weeks, but once the case was over all he wanted was to see her.

Steve had invited Danny over for the night, but that always led to sex, and Danny was most defiantly not in the mood. So he instead went home to his empty apartment.

But he wasn’t able to sleep. The pullout bed was small but felt so big with no one else there. He wished he had taken Steve up on his offer. Even if he wasn’t really up for sex, he did want a warm body near him; someone to convince him the world wasn’t all evil. He tossed for hours before giving up. Maybe the sex would do him some good, and at least he’d be with Steve. So he dragged himself out of his apartment and drove.

Danny quietly opened Steve’s door, expecting to find the house dark and quiet, but instead he found Steve lounging on the couch, staring at the TV.

“Hey.”

“Hey, Danno.”

“I don’t feel like sex,” Danny blurted out.

Steve looked up at him. His eyes looked almost as haunted as Danny felt. “Yeah, me neither.”

“But I don’t want to be alone.”

Steve nodded. He got up and headed to the bedroom. Danny followed closely. They both stripped down to their boxers and crawled into bed. Danny automatically sought out Steve and cuddled close.

Neither of them fell right asleep. They laid there and listened to each other’s breathing.

“I was thinking...” Steve started.

“That’s never a good thing,” Danny tried to joke.

Steve ignored him. “Maybe we should try going out.”

“Are you asking me on a date?”

“Yeah, guess I am.”

“I thought you liked what we had.”

“I do. But...I want more with you. I like this, too. Just you being here. Not everything has to be about sex between us.”

Danny nodded. “Yeah. Yeah, let’s try it.”

Steve smiled. He ran a hand through Danny’s hair, still stuff with gel. “How are you holding up?”

“Not very well. All I can think about is Grace.”

“Have you called her?”

“Yeah. It helped, but still...”

Steve pulled Danny close. “She couldn’t be any safer than she is with you as her dad, Danno.”

“Thanks.”

They stayed in silence until they both slowly fell asleep.

It was easier than Charles thought it was going to be to find Erik and get his attention. Normally the two mutant groups stayed away from each other so not to have to fight, but this time Charles needed the Brotherhood; he needed Erik.

Sean had been missing for two weeks and they had only just figured out where he was being kept; locked up in a high security government facility. After sending in a group to scout the place and try to come up with a plan, Charles finally gave up and decided he needed Erik.

So Erik stood in Charles’ library with Azazel on one side and Emma on the other. Greetings were tight, so Charles moved right on to the point.

“Sean has been kidnapped and we can’t get him back on our own.”

“And you need our help.”

Charles nodded. “Please, lets put our differences aside. We can go back after.”

Erik was silent for a moment, deep in thought. “Fine, we’ll help.”

“Magneto...” Emma hissed.

“Quiet. He’s one of us.”

“Thank you, Erik.”

“Magneto,” Erik corrected.

“You’ll always be Erik to me. You won’t be able to change that.”

Erik let his eyes drift down to Charles’ legs. “Leave us. I’ll call for you when I need you back.” His tone left no room for argument, so Azazel transported himself and Emma away. “I did that, didn’t I?” Erik asked, nodding to the wheelchair.

“Yes. The bullet hit my spine.”

“I am sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you.”

“You hurt me much worse than the bullet.”

Erik had the decency to look ashamed.

“I have two conditions,” Charles continued.

“Shouldn’t I be the one with conditions?”

“Perhaps. But these are important.” Erik motioned for Charles to continue. “First, no trying to recruit my students.”

“Fine.”

“Or trying to kill any of them for any reason.”

“Of course.”

“And second, and more importantly, take off that ridiculous outfit.”

Erik glared at him.

“Come on Erik. First, we need to communicate when we go in for a rescue. Also, you just look silly.”

“I’m Magneto now, Charles. This is part of who I am.”

“Please, be Erik for this. Just this once.”

“How do I know you won’t try to find out my secrets?”

“Because even now I respect you too much. You have not used my secrets against me. Even if I stumble across something, I will return the favour.”

Erik closed his eyes then took off the helmet. Emotions from Charles washed over him; happiness that they were together again, sadness at their separation and distress over the situation. But Erik could feel that even then Charles was holding back.

“Thank you.”

The next day Charles sat in the Library with his ten students standing in front of him, the Brotherhood behind him and Erik (not Magneto) beside him.

“We will have a truce for now with the Brotherhood. We need their help and they are willing to give it. You will be respectful of them and they will leave you alone. When we go for Sean you will listen to Erik the same way you would listen to me. If you can’t work with this you will not be punished, but speak up now.” No one made a move to protest. “I appreciate your trust. Thank you. You are dismissed.”

The kids started filing out of the room.

“Alex, I need to speak with you.”

Alex looked confused, but stayed behind.

“You will not be able to go on the mission.”

“What?! But-”

“You’re too close to this. You’re going to be partnered with Hank in the infirmary. Chances are Sean will be in a bad state. You will be more helpful patching him up.”

“Fine,” Alex growled and stalked off.

“We could have used him,” Erik pointed out.

“Him and Sean have been dating for some months now. He would risk the mission just to get to Sean a little faster.

Erik nodded in understanding. “We need a good plan for this.”

It was one more week before they had a plan and got everything worked out to go in, but as soon as it was, they put it into action.

Azazel and Riptide fought on the front while some of the students picked up any slack. Erik rushed through the facility, Charles watching through his eyes. He watched as Erik knocked guards out with their own guns, only the need to rescue Sean being more important than their deaths. He watched as Erik flung open every door until he finally found the other mutant.

Sean was in what looked like a dentist’s chair, his legs, arms and head were all strapped down. His throat was cut open, skin kept separated by metal hooks so to let the scientists look at his vocal cords. Sean’s eyes were open and red; he was obviously awake and in pain.

The metal in the room started to shake. Erik, keep calm. You’ll hurt Sean Erik heard in his head. He took a deep breath before mentally grabbing the a scalpel and slicing open the nearest person’s throat. He stabbed the other scientist before dropping it and running over to Sean.

I can’t move him like this, Erik thought.

Call Azazel. Bring him just how he is.

Sean was staring at him with large, frightened eyes.

“It’s okay, kid. We’re going to get you home.” He whistled and Azazel appeared. He took one look at the situation, grabbed both Erik and Sean and transported them all to the mansion in a puff of smoke.

Charles and Erik watched as Hank carefully removed the metal hooks, being surprisingly graceful for someone so big. Alex did his best to keep calm and help.

When Sean was being stitched up Charles turned to Erik. “You were right, my friend. We can not live in harmony.”

Fic: Choices

He saw it happen as if in slow motion. The missiles came towards them and he waited until the last second to stop them. He turned them around, ignoring Charles’ calls. He felt Charles tackle him to the ground, then the bullets flying at him, deflecting them easily. He heard Charles cry out as he fell to the ground. He held Charles close while choking Moria until the words came: “No, Erik, you did this.” Time seemed to speed up as he handed Charles over to Moria, took Raven’s hand and was transported away by Azazel.

Erik’s breathing was harsh as he opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling.

“Erik?” Erik looked over at the body laying next to him. Charles. He was here. “As I have been every night for the past year.”

“I thought you were going to stop doing that.”

“You were projecting. I couldn’t help but hear.”

Erik placed a hand on Charles’ leg, even though he knew the telapath couldn’t feel it.

“You dreamt of the beach again.” It wasn’t a question.

Erik nodded.

“You never left, Erik. You did the right thing. You stayed with us. You stayed with me.”

“After getting you shot.”

“That was over a year ago.”

“I still ruined your life. It would have been better if I left.”

Charles shook his head. “No, Erik. You did not ruin my life. I live with the man I love, teaching and giving a safe haven to those like us. You made an obstacle. A hard one, but one I have been able to work with.”

“I should have left,” Erik repeated.

Charles sighed. They had this argument at least once a week. “I would always chose to have you by my side, my friend. Every day I am glad that you chose to stay.” He leaned over, awkwardly since he couldn’t move his legs, and kissed Erik deeply. “I love you.”

Erik blushed, though he’d never admit it.

“Help me on to my side,” Charles said. Erik did, positioning them so Charles had his back against Erik’s chest. Erik wrapped his arms around his lover’s waist. “I’ve forgiven you, Erik. Why won’t you forgive yourself?”

“It’s the way I am. I doubt I’ll change.”

“As long as you can accept that I love you, just how you are.”

“I have no choice, do I?”

Charles grinned. “No, my friend. In this, you do not.”

Erik looked down at the injured mutant. Charles was staring at him with large blue eyes. “Charles…”

“Please.”

Erik couldn’t say no. Not to Charles. He finally nodded. Splashes were heard as the missiles dropped into the water. Erik fell to his knees next to his friend. “Yes,” he whispered.

“Erik…I can’t feel my legs.”

Charles listened to the doctor as he explained the diagnosis. His chances were good that he would walk again, but for now his legs were out of commission completely. They were numb at the moment, but he could feel from the doctor that he really believed that
Charles would be okay.

The children visited and he was glad everyone was fine, though they were all a bit shaken up. The only person who didn’t visit was the one person he wanted. Erik. He couldn’t even feel the other mutant, which meant he wasn’t anywhere near the hospital.

After a few weeks, once he could feel his toes again, Charles was finally allowed to go home. It was nice, being where he felt he belonged. Hearing the kids run around and having Raven visit him often meant that he was rarely lonely. At least that’s what he told himself. Truth was he was very lonely. He could now feel Erik, who had been hiding in the manor, right on the edge of his mind.

Charles tried to distract himself from Erik with books and training the kids the best he could. The physical therapy and the following exhaustion took up a lot of his time.

Three weeks after he arrived home, Charles got sick of Erik avoiding him. They had been lovers before Shaw’s death, and now they didn’t even see each other. Charles decided to take matters into his own hands.

Erik, he projected as gently as he could. He didn’t hear anything back. Erik. Please, come visit me. I miss you.

It was fifteen minutes before there was a knock at his bedroom door. He nudged his mind to find out for sure it was Erik. “Come in, my friend.”

Erik opened the door. He looked uncharacteristically awkward. “I don’t know how you can still call me that after everything that’s happened.”

“You will always be my friend.”

“I killed people. I killed Shaw.”

“I do not agree with what you did, but you felt you had to.”

“I almost got you killed.”

Charles looked at Erik sadly. “I have forgiven you, Erik. Misfortune fell upon us all on that beach, but it is over now. Please, I want to go back to the way we were.”

Erik shifted on his feet. “It can’t be that easy.”

“Maybe, but we can try. Now sit down, my friend. You are making me nervous.”

Erik sat at the foot of the bed.

“I still love you. Isn’t that what matters.”

“I don’t know. You know love is something new to me.”

Charles smiled. “And you know I don’t mind. Please, I wish for you to be by my side as I heal.

Erik nodded uncertainly. “If that’s what you really want…”

“It is. Now, come closer.”

Erik moved close enough for Charles to grab him and pull Erik on top of him. He pressed a kiss to Erik’s lips and Erik melted a little against him.

“We’ll be okay, my friend.”

It started with an argument in their Junior year of college. Jared was studying pre-med for the hell of it and Peter was pre-law since he didn’t know as much as Jared. They shared a dorm room in one of the louder dorms.

The argument was over something stupid; neither of them would remember years later. Deep down they both knew it was about something different. It was about Peter’s new girlfriend, the one that would hardly let Peter be alone with Jared. She was evil and Jared knew it but Peter wouldn’t listen.

Jared had always had fazes where he would get depressed. He would hold himself up in the dorm room and just not move for days. Normally Peter was there with him. he’d force him out of bed and make him watch a movie or get out for a walk.

But that time Peter wasn’t there. he hadn’t shown up for days. He hadn’t even called. Jared was washed by his fears of abandonment. Peter had always been there for him and now he was alone. And Peter wasn’t coming back for him.

Things were too hard. School was too hard, life was too hard. And without Peter it wasn’t worth it.

Peter returned to the dorm, feeling bad about the argument. And he knew he had been choosing Sarah over Jared and that wasn’t fair. He didn’t think he had hurt Jared that bad. But as he entered the room he found it pitch black, a sure sign Jared was in one of his moods.

“Come on Jared, time to get up,” Peter said as he opened the curtain. There was no movement from the lump on the bed. “Jared?” Still nothing. Peter went over to the bed and shook Jared’s body. He still didn’t move. It was then that Peter noticed the empty prescription bottle on the night stand. He knew Jared didn’t take any medication so he started to panic. “Jared! Jared, wake up, please wake up!” When Jared still didn’t move Peter ran to the phone and called 911.

Jared woke up the next day to bright lights and a sick feeling in his stomach. It only took him a moment to remember what he had done. He was torn on whether he was happy to be awake or not.

He opened his eyes and they immediately fell on Peter who was seeping in a chair next to him.

“Peter?”

Peter’s eyes shot open. “Jared! Thank God! They said you might not wake up. I was so scared. Why would you do something like that?”

“You left me,” Jared answered simply.

“I...I was just mad, Jared. I was always going to come back.” Peter felt a wave of guilt wash over him. It was ll his fault his best friend almost died. “I’m sorry. I’d never leave you.”

“You were gone for days and without you it wasn’t worth it.”

Peter wanted to cry. “I’m so sorry, Jared. If I had any idea this would happen...”

The doctor came in at that point and ushered Peter out so she could check on Jared.

It took years of therapy before Jared stopped having depressive fazes. Though he always had abandonment issues when it came to Peter. But Peter put up with it without complaint. Even when Janie came along Peter always contacted Jared every other day, even if he wasn’t coming home. For Peter, Jared would always come first.

“Tell me to stop,” Peter whispered against Jared’s lips. They had done this before but it had always been while they were shit-faced. Now both were sober yet had somehow found themselves pressed against each other in a dark corner of the Cave.

It had been a hard day. Jared had lost the final trial against his father and it had really upset him. All he wanted was for Peter to tell him he was worth something.

“No, don’t stop,” Jared breathed before pressing their lips back together. There was nothing in Peter willing to fight the advance. “Make me feel wanted.”

“You are wanted.”

“Prove it.”

Peter lifted Jared up and the smaller man wrapped his legs around his friend’s waist. The two of them stumbled into Peter’s room where Peter dropped Jared onto the bed. He crawled on top of the other lawyer and pressed their lips back together, kissing Jared passionately. He pawed at Jared’s chest while Jared buried his hands in Peter’s hair. Peter’s hands wandered under Jared’s shirt, ghosting over the abs underneath. Jared shivered, but as Peter went to undo Jared’s shirt, the other man stopped him.

“Leave it.”

“I thought we were about to have sex here. Am I wrong?”

“No, no, we are, I’d just rather leave my shirt on.” Jared wouldn’t look Peter in the eyes.

Peter sat back on his haunches to get a better look at his friend. “We’re about to have passionate bed sex. That’s supposed to be done naked.”

“I know, I’d just...”

Peter stared for a moment. “Are you embarrassed?”

“Shut up.”

Peter smiled. “That’s just adorable.”

“Shut up.”

“Jared, you have nothing to be embarrassed about. You’re perfect.”

Jared gave a dry laugh. “Peter. You’re perfect. I’m a runt.”

“A perfect runt,” Peter insisted and started undoing Jared’s shirt. Jared didn’t resist but still wouldn’t look at Peter. “So perfect,” Peter muttered before he started placing kisses all over the exposed skin.

“Don’t say that.”

“Why not?” Peter asked between kisses.

“Don’t just try and make me feel better.”

“That’s not what I’m trying to do at all. I’m just making a casual statement.”

Jared didn’t respond but let Peter continue to worship his chest. He moved down slowly, licking and kissing all the exposed skin he could find. Jared still didn’t watch.

Jared nodded and Peter slipped a finger into Jared. He slowly opened him up one finger at a time, leaving Jared a whimpering sweat covered mess.

“Enough. Please, Peter,” Jared begged.

Peter never could deny Jared anything. He slicked himself up and rolled on the condom before he lined himself up with the other lawyer’s entrance. “Ready?”

“Yes!”

Peter pushed in carefully, basking in Jared’s moans and whimpers of pleasure. His blue eyes were squeezed shut but Peter couldn’t stop watching him.

“Jared,” Peter breathed after awhile. “Jared, look at me. I want to see your eyes.”

Jared opened his eyes and the two of them locked, brown and blue.

Peter gasped and groaned as he came and a few strokes later Jared followed.

They separated and Peter discarded the condom in a nearby bin.

Peter tried to get out of bed, but Jared grabbed his wrist. “I’ll be right back,” he promised. “I’m just grabbing a face cloth.” Jared’s grip loosened enough for him to get away.

True to his word he was back in less than two minutes with a wet cloth he used to wipe Jared off with.

He lay back down next to Jared who snuggled up against him. “Thanks, man. For everything,” Jared muttered against Peter’s neck. “This really helped.”

“Good. Good. I like you much better happy.”

They lay in silence for a while. “You know I was serious, Jare. You’re perfect. Don’t ever doubt that, okay?”

Jared shrugged and Peter decided to take what he could get.

Harvey had gotten used to waking up different ways over the last few months. Sometimes it was to his ear being nibbled, or a nipple being sucked. On the really nice days it was to his dick being blown, and on bad days it was to being accidentally hit while his associate had nightmares.

That Tuesday morning was one of the nicer ones, waking up to a mouth sucking and licking on his collar bone. Harvey opened his eyes and glanced at the clock then craned his neck to look at Mike.

“Mike, what did I tell you about waking me up before 5:30?”

“Not to?”

“And what time is it?”

“5:26.” Mike licked at the collarbone again. “Go back to sleep for four minutes.”

“I can’t with you sucking my neck like a fucking vampire.”

Mike just hummed.

“Get up here,” Harvey insisted, pulling Mike up so he could kiss the younger man. “You, young man, are nothing but trouble.”

“So you tell me, sir.”

Both men grinned at each other. Harvey flipped them over and started leaving his own marks on Mike’s neck. They had plenty of time before they had to get up for work and Harvey planned on putting that time to good use

Mike sat on the floor next to Harvey’s desk with his legs crossed and paper spread all around him. He had been helping Harvey proof briefs and find mistakes and loopholes in everything since Harvey found out that the kid had a perfect memory. He enjoyed his work and enjoyed doing with Harvey.

And of course it wasn’t all work. There were plenty of times where he would take a few minutes off to give Harvey a blow job under the desk.

Harvey snapped Mike out of his thoughts by running a hand through Mike’s hair. “How are you doing?”

“Fine,” Mike answered. He had been making decent progress but not as much as usual.

“You look tired.”

Mike didn’t look at Harvey. “Didn’t sleep well.”

“Nightmares?” There were plenty of nights where Mike was kept up by nightmares of past owners who had used and abused him.

Mike nodded.

“You know you can wake me up.”

“You get grumpy without sleep.”

“You’re more important, Mike. I’ve been trying to get that through your thick skull for the past nine months.”

“Sorry, sir.”

“Don’t ‘sorry, sir’ me.” Harvey ran a gentle hand through Mike’s hair again. “Just wake me up next time, okay?”

Mike nodded again.

“Good. Now why don’t you take a nap on the couch?”

Mike quickly cleaned up the paper and placed it all carefully on Harvey’s desk. Before he could walk away Harvey grabbed him by the tie and pulled him in for a kiss. “We’re going for dinner tonight, so rest up.”

Mike nodded once more and went to crash on the couch.

Mike had grown a lot over the nine months that Harvey had owned him. He no longer winced when he looked at a menu and he could order on his own. He remembered the proud look Harvey had given him the first time he spoke to the waiter and even just thinking about it made him feel proud as well.

Nights out were no longer a chore and Mike looked forward to them, trying new food and wine and having pleasant conversations with his master.

After a wonderful dinner they went back home where Harvey poured them both a drink and sat down on the couch to watch a basketball game. Mike sat down at his feet, no longer because he had to but now because he liked to. He liked Harvey’s hand running through his hair and cuddling against Harvey’s leg.

The game ended and though it was still early, for them at least, the headed to bed for some passionate sex before they both fell asleep in each other’s arms.

Thanks to Harvey Specter, Mike was a new man, his own man, and even if technically he belonged to someone, inside he was truly free.

“Harvey. As you know, every senior partner gets an ‘associate’ to help deal with the ‘stress’. You have yet to pick one out.”

Harvey looked up from the brief he was reading to see his managing partner, Jessica, standing in his doorway. “I don’t want one,” he answered simply.

“It’s a requirement, Harvey. You know that.”

“I don’t have time for this, Jessica. And I don’t have time for an ‘associate’, either.”

“I don’t care about your opinion on the matter. You have to have one and that’s final.”

“I don’t even have time to go find one,” Harvey said, grasping at straws to get his way.

“I know. Which is why I picked one up for you.”

“You what?”

“He has a decent track record, and is supposed to be very smart, too, so he might even be able to help with your work along with your...needs.”

“Jessica-”

“All of this is final, Harvey.” She waved over someone that had been out of sight. A young man, no older than 25, with dark blond hair and a sad air around him walked next to her. He was thin, much to thin to be healthy and was staring at the floor like it held the answers to the universe.

“Couldn’t have even put him in a suit for me?” Harvey practically sneered at Jessica.

“I figured you’d rather dress him up yourself. You’ve always been so picky about clothes. Now I’m leaving. You two play nice. Harvey, take the rest of today off to get him settled.”

Harvey stared at the kid, now his ‘associate’, for a few moments. Finally he sighed. “At least get out of the doorway and into the office, will you kid? You’re making me nervous.”

The kid moved into the room quickly, never lifting his eyes.

“Sit down somewhere.”

The kid’s eyes lifted just enough to scan the room a few times before he walked over and settled on his knees next to Harvey’s desk. Harvey sighed again. “I meant on the couch or something.”

He saw the thin frame of the boy tense up. “Fine, if you’re more comfortable there, whatever.” The kid un-tensed a little. “What’s your name, kid?” Harvey finally asked.

“Whatever you wish it to be.” The kid’s voice was quiet and scratchy, like he had screamed it horse not long ago.

“That’s not what I wanted to hear. What is your birth name?”

“Sorry, sir,” the kid said quickly, a small note of panic in his voice. “Mike, sir.”

“Okay, Mike. I need to finish reading this brief. It will only be a few minutes. Then we can get out of here and get you some real clothes and some food.”

Mike looked confused but didn’t say anything so Harvey just went back to work. Ten minutes later he closed the file and stood up, startling Mike who fell to the side and hit his head on the desk. It wasn’t too hard, but hard enough to hurt.

“Hey, be careful.”

“Sorry, sorry, sir,” Mike whispered as he straightened up a bit.

“Don’t be sorry, just be more careful. You’re the one getting hurt, not me. Now what do you want to do first, clothes or food?” Mike didn’t answer. “Mike?”

“Yes sir?”

“Which do you want to do first.”

Mike opened his mouth to speak but didn’t actually say anything at first. Finally he croaked out an “I don’t know, sir.”

“Okay, fine, well, I can’t take you anywhere looking like that,” Harvey said gesturing to the t-shirt and ragged jeans Mike was wearing. “We’ll get you some nice casual clothes first, then have lunch. Then I’ll take you to my tailor for some suits. That sound good?”

It took almost a half a minute before Mike realized he was supposed to answer. “Yes, sir.”

“Good. Now get up, we’re getting out of here.”

Mike stood up, swayed a little before balancing himself.

“Your head okay?” Harvey asked.

“Yes, sir.”

“Good.” Harvey walked out of his office with Mike following a foot and a half behind and slightly to the right the whole way to the car. Mike looked unsure when they got to Harvey’s new Mustang. “Passenger seat,” Harvey instructed and Mike was quick to obey.

The store Harvey brought him to first was filled with clothes that cost more than anything Mike had been allowed to even touch before. Watching as his master and the sales lady went from rack to rack picking out things for him to try on, a little bit of Mike started to panic. It would take a lot of work and sex to equal the amount his master was trying to spend on him. But he kept his mouth shut and tried on the clothes for Harvey without saying a word, because that’s what good ‘associates’ did.

Harvey had him change into a dark blue button down and new jeans before he brought him for lunch. The place Harvey took him to, an Italian restaurant, was fancy and over priced. Again Mike didn’t say anything, but he felt better this time since it wasn’t money being spent on him. If his master wanted fancy food, then that was fine.

His opinion changed when Harvey looked across the table at him and asked him what he wanted.

“Sir?” he asked, confused. They were here for his master.

“We’re here so we can get some food in you. You can have whatever you want.”

Suddenly Mike felt sick. He didn’t know most of what was on the menu and had no idea what Harvey wanted him to order. His breath quickened as he tried to think of a way out without upsetting his new master.

Harvey seemed to pick up on his panic. “Okay, I’ll order something for you. How about a simple pasta dish? We probably shouldn’t be pushing heavy food into you quite yet.”

Mike nodded, still shaking a little from the panic. His new master was being too nice to him. He had already messed up more than once and all he had gotten was comfort. He didn’t deserve that. And he knew it wouldn’t last. He wanted to just enjoy it while he had it, but he was too scared of what was to come. Harvey would soon get sick of spoiling him and take what was his. He’d be just like everyone else who had owned Mike before.

“Mike,” Harvey said after awhile. “Eat your pasta.” Mike looked down to see that at some point his lunch had been delivered. He ate it all, grateful to have real food in his stomach.

He had calmed down considerably after lunch, convincing himself to enjoy the spoiling while he could. It wasn’t until they made it to the tailor that the panic returned. Before even getting in the door Mike could see the expensive suits. The regular clothes were bad enough, but there was absolutely nothing he could do to ever pay his master back for even one of those suits. He couldn’t help it. He burst into tears and tried to back away from the building.

“Hey!” Harvey snapped, more surprised than angry, but there was no way for Mike to tell the difference. “Where are you going?”

“I-sir. I can’t, sir.”

“Can’t what?”

“It’s too much, sir.” He knew he was going to be in trouble. He knew there was going to be pain, but his panic was overwhelming his senses. “There’s no way for me to pay you back, sir. I can’t, sir. I’m sorry, I’m sorry sir.”

Harvey grabbed him by the shoulders and tried to get the younger man to look at him. “Mike, calm down. What do you mean you can’t pay me back? You’re not supposed to pay me back. You need clothes for the office, and I’m not letting you walk around in something right off the rack.”

Mike just kept muttering that he was sorry.

“Mike, in the office you’re a reflection of me, so I need you to look good. I don’t expect you to pay me back. Now breathe. Deep breaths.”

Mike did as he was told and after a few minutes he felt better.

“Okay, now we need to get you measured and find some nice suits.”

Rene walked out of the changing room after measuring Mike and walked right up to Harvey. “You got ripped off with that one,” he stated bluntly.

“What are you talking about?”

“Your boy. You should have something in it’s prime, not a kid who has been starved and beaten within an inch of his life.”

“Beaten?”

“He’s broken, Harvey. Return him while you can.”

Harvey looked over Rene’s shoulder to see Mike standing in the door to the dressing rooms, still staring at the damn floor.

“What I do is none of your business, Rene. Just ring me up and we’ll be on our way.”

Once in the car Mike spoke up on his own for the first time. “S-sir?”

Harvey looked over, surprised. “Yeah?”

“He, he was right sir. I am broken, sir,” Mike muttered.

“You’re not. And even if you are, it’s nothing we can’t work on.”

Mike just stared out the window.

Harvey’s apartment was amazing and Mike couldn’t keep his eyes from flying around, taking in all the little details. He wanted to go look out the large glass windows but didn’t dare move from where his master had pushed him onto the couch in the main room. Harvey had disappeared leaving Mike alone. When Harvey returned he was wearing jeans and a button down much like Mike.

“Okay, now I need to know what Rene was talking about. Stand up and take your shirt off.”

Mike hesitated. If his new master was as caring as he seemed to be, there was no way he’d want something as ruined as him. He knew his run of good luck over the last few hours was over. It was time to face the music. If he was lucky maybe Harvey wouldn’t get rid of him, and instead would use him like the others had. At least he was good looking.

He slowly unbuttoned his shirt and folded it carefully before putting it on the couch and turning to face his master. Though he couldn’t see Harvey’s face he could feel the lawyer’s eyes boring into him.

Harvey was in shock. Bruises, scars, welts, cuts, and a few burns littered Mike’s whole upper body. Some of them looked no more than a few days old. It made him angry; it brought out the possessiveness in him. Someone else had hurt what was his. It may not have been his when it happened, but Mike was his now. He would fix the damage that was done and make sure no one hurt the kid again.

“Have you been cleaning those newer cuts?” he asked.

Mike shook his head. He had always been told to leave them alone.

“You’re lucky they’re not infected. Wait here, I have a first aid kit.” When Harvey returned with the first aid kit Mike was shaking, as if he was trying to suppress sobs. “Hey, hey. What’s wrong?”

“Nothing, sir,” was the immediate answer.

Harvey sighed. “I don’t have many rules, Mike, but one of them is that you never lie to me. If I ask you something I expect the truth, not just what you think I want to hear, okay?”

Mike nodded. “Yes, sir.”

“Good. Now tell me what’s going on.”

“I don’t want to be sent away, sir.”

“What? Why would I send you away?”

“Because I’m broken, sir.”

Harvey stared at Mike for a few seconds. “Oh, Mike. You’re not broken. Maybe a little damaged around the edges, but you’re not broken. Listen, I may not have wanted an associate, but you’re mine now, and I take care of what’s mine. No one is going to hurt you anymore. Understand?”

This time Mike didn’t answer. He didn’t understand, but he wasn’t allowed to lie.

“Okay, I get it. It will take awhile before you believe me. That’s fine.” Harvey took some supplies out of the kit and started working on the fresher cuts. “How’s your head doing?”

“Fine, sir.”

“No pain at all?”

Mike paused. “A little, sir.”

Harvey grabbed some painkillers and handed them to Mike who took them without question.

Once Mike was cleaned up Harvey decided it was best to let the kid rest for awhile. He sat on the couch and turned on the TV while Mike sat at his feet. Eventually Mike started to nod off, leaning against Harvey’s legs. Harvey let one hand run through his associates hair and turned down the television so not to bother him.

It was going to be a long road to get Mike to trust him, but maybe one day he could get the kid to be happy and comfortable and have a little self respect. For now he’d just do what he could to help him along and heal the damage already done.

(IDK, maybe one day I’ll write more to this. I have an epilogue in mind, but no way to get there. I might write it anyways, who knows. But probably not soon. Or maybe today. I have no idea right now.)

The first of what Peter referred to as the ‘Christmas trouble calls’ came the day after he and Jared had gone their separate ways for the holidays. It came in at 4 the first morning. Jared had given him his most promising puppy-dog look, begging him to let him stay home. Instead, Peter had just pushed his friend into the waiting taxi and told him to call whenever he needed.

"Wha?"

"Hey."

"Jare? What's wrong?" Peter asked.

"I can't stand my father!"

"It's only a few days Jared. You can handle it."

There was a moment of silence before Jared answered. "I can't. Not this time. I'm leaving in the morning."

"Tomorrow is Christmas," Peter said, as if Jared didn't already know. "What about your big family dinner?"

"Screw it. I'm going home. I'll have Indian with Pindar or something instead."

Peter knew that besides the fact it meant he had to spend time with his father Jared loved the big Christmas dinners. It must have been really bad for Jared to be willing to skip it.

"Is there anything I can do to help?"

"No. I just wanted to talk to you."

"Not even phone sex?"

"No. Thanks for the offer."

Peter frowned. Jared never turned down sex in any form. "Will you be okay with Pindar?"

"I'd rather you be there but I'll take what I can get."

Peter couldn't stand how sad Jared sounded. "How 'bout you come over here? Have dinner with my family."

"Your mom doesn't really like me," Jared pointed out.

"She likes you well enough for you to be here for Christmas. Come on. I know you don't want to spend the holiday alone with Pindar."

"Only if your parents say it's okay."

"We're not in high school anymore."

"It's their house. Humour me here Peter. I'm looking not to piss people off for once."

Peter sighed. "Fine. I'll ask first thing in the morning and call when I get an answer."

"Thanks."

"I'll see you tomorrow Jared."

"Night Peter."

The next morning Jared packed his bags and tried to think out how he was going to break the news to his mother. He could have cared less what his father would think of him bailing.

At least that's what he told himself.

"Mom?" he started quietly as they sat eating breakfast. His mother 'hmm'ed in response. "I'm not staying for dinner tonight."

It was his father that spoke first. "Of course you are. Your mother has a lovely dinner planned and the whole family is coming. You don't get to not come."

"Why the last minute change?" his mother asked, ignoring her husband.

"It's too stressful around here since I won that baseball case. Dad won't let it drop."

"I haven't brought up the case once!"

"No, but you've brought up everything I've done wrong since grade school!"

"It's not my fault you're such a disappointment."

"Of course it is! You're the one that raised me. Occassionly."

"STOP!" Both turned to look at Mrs Franklin. "If you don't want to stay you don't have to, dear. You're plenty old enough to make your own decisions."

"Thanks, mom." Jared's phone rang. It was Peter. "I have to take this," he said before getting up and walking to the hall. "'Sup?"

"My mom said it's fine for you to come stay as long as you don't try to help with the cooking again."

"Can't blame her for that one," Jared said remembering the time he almost caught the Bash's kitchen on fire.

"How did your mom take the news?"

"Mom took it fine. Dad flipped though."

"Sorry. Well, get here as soon as you can, okay?"

"I'll be there in an hour."

An hour and a half later Jared showed up on the Bash's doorstep. Mrs Bash came out to greet him.

"What a pleasure to see you again." Jared could tell it wasn't completely earnest but it was nice to hear anyways.

"Thank you, m'am."

"There's not enough room to put you any place except with Peter tonight."

"I'm sure we'll figure something out."

"I'm sure you will. Now come in. Peter is just finishing the cleaning for tonight. He’s in the living room.”

“Thanks Mrs B.”

Jared found Peter (most definitely not cleaning) in the living room.

“Hey, you’re late,” Peter said when he looked up. Then he got a better look at Jared. His eyes were slightly red and puffy. “Have you been crying?”

“What? No, of course not!” Jared insisted.

Peter knew he was lying. He grabbed Jared and pulled him into a tight hug. “What happened?”

“Dad grabbed me before I left, yelled at me about how much of a disappointment I am again. Just got to me. He’s my dad! He’s supposed to be proud of me.”

“You’re right, he is. Your dad’s a dick.”

Jared muttered something into Peter’s shirt that the other man couldn’t make out. He decided it wasn’t important. “Wanna know a secret.” Jared nodded. “I’m proud of you. And you’re as close to family as my mom and dad are.”

“Sayin’ I do have family that’s proud of me?”

“That’s exactly what I’m saying.” Peter placed a kiss on Jared’s forehead. “Nobody else matters.”

And Jared knew Peter was right. He was the only family he needed and his opinion would always be more important than his dad’s.

Jared couldn’t sleep. He never could after being around his father. He always ended up with a bad case of insomnia around the holidays and now he was having it again.

He did all the things he normally did when he couldn’t sleep: he ‘relaxed’ himself, he soaked in the hot tub, he played video games; but after 3 hours, at 4 in the morning, he finally realized there was no way he was getting to sleep on his own.

He knocked quietly at Peter’s door. When he didn’t get an answer he stuck his head in and whispered his best friend’s name.

Peter opened his eyes and squinted at the light coming from the door. “Jared?”

“No, it’s Pintar.”

“Very funny. What’s wrong?”

Jared shifted awkwardly. “You know what, nothing. Never mind. Go back to sleep, I’ll see you later.”

“Jared!” Peter called before Jared could close the door.

“What?”

Peter lifted the covers. “Get your short ass over here.”

Jared smiled and practically dove on to the bed. He loved having a best friend that always knew exactly what he needed.

Once they had settled comfortably against each other Peter decided to break the short silence. “This about your dad?”

“What else?”

“You can’t let him get to you,” Peter said as he ran a hand through Jared’s hair.

Jared sighed. “I can’t help it. He’s just always been so...urg.”

“I know, I know. And I know it’s never been easy for you. I’m here, though, any time. Okay?”

Jared nodded.

“Also, next time don’t keep me up for hours wandering around before you come do something about your insomnia, okay?”

Jared grinned a little. “Fine.”

They fell into silence. After a few minutes Jared’s breathing slowed as he fell asleep. Peter drifted off not long after.

In the morning they would wake up tangled together. Neither of them would mention anything talked about the night before, but both knew that for at least a few days while the case went on Peter would be playing host to Jared in his bed. Not that he ever minded.

Last entry today, I promise! Here are my stocking stuffers for the 2010 season

Supernatural-Dean/Castiel - wings +Baby

Castiel had been missing since the end of the Apocalypse. Once God had been found he had ordered all the angels back to Heaven.

It had been six months. Dean lay on his bed in another crappy motel room, nursing a bruised rib and flipping through his dad’s journal while Sam went out to get food. He was suddenly interrupted by a bundle of feathers falling from nowhere onto his chest (painfully). It took him a moment to realize that it was a small child wrapped in wings.

“It’s okay, Jackiel. We’ll keep practicing.”

Dean looked up to the familiar face of Castiel.

“Hello, Dean.”

Questions rolled out of Dean before he even had a chance to thing. “What are you doing here? Where have you been? Are you okay? What is this thing on my chest?”

“Please remember to breathe, Dean,” Castiel said with a hint of a smile. “I’m fine. Father said he was very proud of me.” Dean could see the pure joy in Castiel that must have come from hearing such praise from God himself. “Second, I’ve been in Heaven. The Host shrunk too much. We needed fledglings, which needed to be raised.” He nodded to the thing on Dean’s chest which was peaking out of it’s wings with large blue eyes. “This is mine. Jackiel.”

“Uh, hi, Jackiel.” The fledgling made a soft chirping noise. “Can it talk?”

“Not yet,” Castiel said as he shook his head. “Soon.”

Dean smiled at the look of pride in Castiel’s eyes. “So what are you doing here?” he finally asked.

Castiel sat on the bed next to Dean and pulled Jackiel into his lap. “I missed you. Father saw I was sad and gave me a pass to come down whenever I wish to see you.”

Dean smiled. “I think Sam has started to notice the same thing with me.”

“We can now not miss each other together.”

Dean grinned and pulled Castiel into a kiss. “Sounds perfect.”

Supernatural RPS-Misha/Richard-Wings

Misha didn’t know what to expect when he got the panicked call at 3 in the morning from Richard. His boyfriend refused to tell him what was going on as Misha tried to hold the phone while getting dressed at the same time. Misha made it a habit not to really worry about anything, but the truly frightened tone in Richard’s voice was changing that quickly.

He arrived at Richard’s hotel in half the time it normally took raced up the stairs instead of waiting for the elevator and nearly skidded past the door he wanted. He knocked loudly on the door. “Rich? It’s Misha. Open up!”

The door opened a crack. “Come in,” he heard Richard whisper.

“Rich,” Misha started as he pushed open the door the rest of the way. “What is going-” He stopped mid sentence and stared where Richard stood. “Correction: What the fuck is going on?”

Richard sat down on the bed, letting what looked like two large, golden hawk wings spread out behind him. He looked at Misha helplessly. “I don’t know! I was sleeping, and when I woke up...”

“Huh,” Misha muttered to himself as he approached Richard to take a better look. “That’s...strange.”

Richard let out a choked laugh. “Strange? That’s an understatement.”

“Probably. Do they hurt?”

“A little. Mostly because they’re pulling at muscles I don’t think I usually use.”

“They’re kinda...sexy,actually.” Misha reached out and dragged one finger down the soft feathers. “I can see why so many fans seem to have a wing kink.”

Richard gasped loudly at Misha’s touch. “Oh, god.”

Misha pulled his hand back. “Sorry. Didn’t mean to hurt you.”

“You didn’t. That felt...”

Misha smirked as he caught on. “Good?”

“Heavenly.”

Misha laughed. He went around so he was back in front of his boyfriend and straddled his lap . He gently put one hand on top of Richard’s left wing and rubbed it with his thumb. “What do you say we stop worrying about these for now and just use them to their full potential?”

Richard pulled Misha’s face to his and kissed him passionately. “This is why I called you. You make everything okay.”

Misha kissed him back and pulled back grinning. “Less smush, more sex.”

Richard couldn’t agree more.

Baranyandi's Stocking
BBC Sherlock-Sherlock/John-Sleepiness

They never talked about those nights. The cold ones where the heat wasn’t enough to keep them warm. They’d huddle together, sometimes talking, usually just watching late night telly. Often, in the wee hours of the morning, John would fall asleep with his head against Sherlock’s shoulder. In the morning neither would mention the late night activities, but both secretly enjoyed them.

It was amazing how smooth things could be, even in the lives of John and Sherlock. When there was downtime between mysteries, in the rare times where Sherlock wasn’t bitching about how boring life was, they fell into neat little patterns. Sometimes they danced around each other in the kitchen, Sherlock working on an experiment and John trying to cook, exchanging kisses when they passed one another. Sometimes they cuddled on the couch, John watching telly while Sherlock yelled at it. Sometimes it was things as simple as taking a walk to the nearest park and watching people. Then some case would come along and life would go back to ‘anything goes’ mode. In the long run, neither could ever tell which they liked better.

Tassosss Stocking
Torchwood-Ianto/Jack-3 Times they were cock-blocked

1.
Most memorable time Jack and Ianto got cockblocked was also the most bizarre. They actually managed to get to the sex part, and Jack was buried deep inside Ianto when suddenly there was a flash of light and they were no longer in Ianto’s apartment. Instead they were on an alien space craft. Talking to aliens while in the nude was not on Ianto’s bucket list, though Jack seemed all too at ease.

Luckily the aliens were friendly, and didn’t share the human taboo against nakedness. So for Earth it ended peacefully. For Ianto and Jack’s sex drives, though, not so much.

2.
It had been a quiet week so Jack decided to drag Ianto back to his apartment with instructions to the rest of the team only to call if the world was about to be destroyed. After an hour of hot foreplay complete with lots of making out and heavy petting, just as they got to the main event Jack’s phone rang. He cursed in three alien languages before answering.

“What did I tell you?”

Turns out the world was about to be destroyed by Sontorians. He really did have to forgive his team for that one.

3.
Jack had sent everyone home early, checked every piece of equipment to make sure there weren’t any impending disasters and made sure everything was just how it was supposed to be. There was no way that anything would get in his and Ianto’s way that afternoon.

In hindsight, as hot as it was, having sex in the green house probably wasn’t the best of ideas, what with anyone able to walk in on them. And that’s exactly what happened. Having Gwen walk in with his hand down Ianto’s pants ruined the mood and neither felt like continuing after she left.

At least she hadn’t walked in on the naked hide-and-seek. Ianto wasn’t sure he could live that one down.

Inception-Eames/Arthur-Prompt Fill--Uptight

“Have you always been so uptight?”

Arthur looked up from the file he was reading to see that Eames had moved his chair and was now sitting with his feet on Arthur’s desk.

“Don’t you have work to do?”

“It’s time for a lunch break.”

Arthur looked around to see that indeed everyone else had left. “This is what I’m talking about. It’s always all business with you. Were you like this as a child? Were you born in thousand dollar suits?”

Arthur glowered at the file he had abandoned. “What I was like as a kid is none of your business.”

Eames frowned at the bitter tone. “Sorry. I didn’t realize...”

“Not all of us were born with silver spoons, Mr Eames.”

Eames rose from his seat and moved next to Arthur. He grabbed the younger man’s shoulders and pulled him into a kiss.

“Sorry darling. Pasts don’t matter. I’m not going to push it.”

Arthur nodded.

“Now come on. I need food and you’re coming with.”

Arthur sighed but let Eames pull him up. He was grateful. He knew that he had revealed more than the question had asked and he knew he had sparked Eames’ curiosity. He also knew that Eames would respect his privacy.

Inception-Eames/Arthur: Outside P.O.V

The lobby was crowded and the lines to the hotel check-in were long. Becky, age 9, looked around at the people while holding her mom’s hand tight.

After a very long few minutes, she caught sight of two men arguing. One was dressed like a business man and the other was hearing a hideous bright button down. Even Becky could tell it was as far from fashionable as one could get.

“Darling, you must calm down,” the hideously dressed man said.

“Eames,” replied ‘Darling’. “This is bad. They know our faces. They want to-“

“Shh, okay. For now lets get our room and hide out until we hear from Cobb.”

“This is your fault.” ‘Darling’ looked mad, like he wanted to hit ‘Eames’. “If you hadn’t-“

“I did it to save you.”

“You could have gotten yourself-“

“I’d rather me then you.”

“Eames…” ‘Darling’s’ face turned from angry to…well, Becky didn’t know what that look was, but she knew it was some happy emotion.

“I’d risk everything for you, Arthur, and I know you’d do the same.”

Darling-now-Arthur smiled just a little bit. “You’re right. Let’s just get out room. I need some quiet. Think you can manage that?”

“For you? Anything.”

At that moment ‘Eames’ looked over at Becky. He smiled kindly. She smiled shyly back then hid her face in her mother’s leg. She may have been only 9 years old, but even she knew the true love she was looking at.

Inception-Eames/Arthur-Eames has a Snickers bar. Arthur wants it.

Maybe it was because he had skipped breakfast. Maybe it was because it had been a long time since he’d eaten any kind of candy. Maybe it was simply because Eames had it. All Arthur knew was that he wanted Eames’ Snickers bar.

Of course the obscene noises Eames made while eating weren’t helping.

Arthur tired not to stare. Really, he did. But it was difficult. Damn Eames for making everything so damn hard (no pun intended).

He was almost disappointed as Eames popped the last piece in his mouth, closing his eyes as he savored the last bite.

Arthur risked a quick look around the room to make sure everyone else was busy before stalking over to Eames, grabbing him and pressing their lips together in a heated open mouthed kiss, licking every trace of cheap chocolate out of the forgers mouth.

“Well,” Eames said when Arthur was finally satisfied, “if I had known that would get you to make out with me in public, I would have done it a long time ago!”

“I hate you,” Arthur growled before crashing their mouths back together.

The next day Eames brought in the most expensive chocolate he could find, and Arthur no longer cared who saw them.

Covenant-Reid/Tyler-I Can Never Keep a Secret From You

“Reid, tell me what’s going on.” Tyler sat at his desk, looking at Reid who was lying on his bed staring at the ceiling.

“Nothing’s going on, Ty.”

“Liar. Normally you would have dragged me out by now.”

“I just don’t feel like going out tonight.”

“You haven’t even hinted at us having sex yet.”

“I’m a bit off tonight, that’s all.”

Tyler sighed in frustration. He went over to Reid’s bed and curled up next to him. “You may be able to fool the others, but I know you better.”

It took a few minutes before Reid answered. “I’m scared shitless. What if Caleb is right and I can’t stop using? There’s less than a month before my ascension. I’m not sure I can do it."

Tyler wrapped his arms around the other boy. “I can’t guarantee you’ll be okay, but I can tell you that no matter what I’m not leaving you.”

“Thanks,” Reid muttered. They just lay there for a few minutes before Reid chuckled. “I really just can’t keep any secrets from you, can I, baby boy?”

“Never. I know you too well.”

“Wouldn’t have it any other way.”

“Me neither.”

Torchwood-Ianto/Jack-He wears a suit in place of a mask

Ianto stood on the roof of the skyscraper looking down at the busy street. He knew he could fall at any moment, he wanted to fall. He wanted to fly, if only for a moment. He was ready. He wanted it to be over.

Before he could take that final step an arm wrapped itself around his waist and pulled him back to safely, pulled him into Jack’s arms. He instinctively grabbed onto the other man and held tight. He held tight for the life he didn’t know what to do with.

“Why?” his lover whispered.

“I’m breaking.”

“No. No you’re not, Ianto. Your mask is breaking. That’s a good thing. You’re becoming free.” Jack pulled away just enough to loosen Ianto’s tie.

“It hurts.”

“I know it does. But stick with it. Stick with me.”

Ianto nodded. He still didn’t know what he wanted, but he would do anything for Jack, including staying alive for just a bit longer.

Primeval-Becker/Connor-First Impressions

When they first met they had mixed feelings about each other. Somewhere between ‘he’s going to be trouble’ and ‘damn I want to hit that.’

Connor saw Becker as a poor attempt on Lester’s part to replace Steven and Ryan in one go. There was no way for this new soldier, too ridiculously young (and hot) to replace either of those two men Connor had come to idolize. This obviously under-qualified captain was here to disturb their group dynamic. On the other hand, he was obscenely handsome in his combat blacks.

Becker knew about Connor’s tendency for trouble before they even officially met. He knew he was always running into things unprepared. He knew the man had trouble listening to authority just as much as Cutter. The young scientist was going to be difficult to keep alive. Luckily, Becker took his job very seriously. When he actually saw Connor for the first time he knew he was in trouble. He always had been attracted to awkward nerdiness.

Over the next few months they learned that many of their original assumptions were true, but they were the things that attracted them together instead of pulling them apart.
