Welcome to My Author & Ministry Website
The official website for all books, sermons, articles, and resources from Rev Dr Graham Joseph Hill (OAM PhD)
I write about following Jesus in a fractured world: where faith meets politics, theology confronts injustice, and spiritual formation shapes how we actually live. My posts explore Christian responses to the questions that won’t leave us alone: suffering and doubt, antisemitism and anti-Palestinianism, masculinity and discipleship, free speech and democracy, technology and what it means to be human, and much more.
I’m convinced the gospel speaks to the whole of life, not as a set of answers but as a way of seeing, loving, and acting. What I offer here is for those who want a faith that’s intellectually serious and spiritually deep, contemplative yet unafraid to engage the mess. Following Jesus has never been safe or private. It’s a road that leads into the world’s pain with hope, honesty, and stubborn love.

Autosanctity: The Sacralization of Self in a Supposedly Secular Age
In 2015, a Nobel Prize-winning biochemist named Tim Hunt attended a conference in South Korea. During a toast at a luncheon, he made an ill-judged attempt at self-deprecating humor about women in laboratories. Within hours, his remarks had been tweeted, condemned, and...
Philip Yancey, Celebrity, Brokenness, and Me
Philip Yancey shaped my faith. His books on grace, pain, and the mysteries of God met me in seasons when I needed language for experiences I couldn't articulate. When I learned about his eight-year affair and its recent exposure, something in me collapsed. I suspect...
The Rise of Hegemonospheres: Power Blocs, Patron States, and the New World Disorder
Something fundamental has shifted in how the world organizes itself. The architecture of international relations that emerged from the ashes of the Second World War, refined through the Cold War and triumphantly declared universal after 1991, is fracturing. In its...
ABOUT GRAHAM
“Following the Jesus Way – theology and spirituality for the whole of life.”
Graham Joseph Hill (OAM, PhD) is an Adjunct Research Fellow and Associate Professor at Charles Sturt University and one of Australia’s most prolific and awarded Christian authors. He’s written more than 30 books, including Salt, Light, and a City, which was named Jesus Creed’s 2012 Book of the Year (church category); Healing Our Broken Humanity (with Grace Ji-Sun Kim), named Outreach Magazine’s 2019 Book of the Year (culture category); and World Christianity, shortlisted for the 2025 Australian Christian Book of the Year. In 2024, Graham was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his service to theological education. He lives in Sydney with his wife, Shyn.
Graham explores the links between Christian spirituality and public life, shaped by a high view of Scripture, core historic Christian beliefs, and discipleship in the Way of Jesus. He affirms the Nicene, Apostles’, and Chalcedonian creeds as faithful expressions of orthodoxy. Graham’s work is grounded in the authority of Scripture, the centrality of Christ, the life of the Triune God, and the gospel’s hope for personal transformation and the common good.

GRAHAM’S LATEST BOOK
WORLD CHRISTIANITY: AN INTRODUCTION
World Christianity: An Introduction provides an accessible introduction to the discipline, methodology, and field of world Christianity. In this book, Graham Joseph Hill engages with more than one hundred high-profile Majority World and First Nations Christian leaders to learn what they can teach the West about mission, leadership, hospitality, creation care, education, worship, and more. Hill challenges the Western church to move away from a Eurocentric and Americentric view of church and mission, and he calls for the church to engage with crucial paradigm shifts in world Christianity. The future of the global church—including the churches in the West—exists in these global exchanges. World Christianity is an indispensable guide for the church as it navigates the unique global experiences of the twenty-first century.
