Workout leagues to get you moving
Challenge your friends and coworkers to motivational leagues to keep you moving. We measure more than just steps - so all your workouts count toward your points. If you need a bit of extra motivation, challenge your friends to a charity league and know you are playing for a greater good. It's a GoodStep, get it?
How it Works:
- Download the GoodStep App
- Select your tracking source and link your fitness tracker if you have one (Apple Health, Fitbit, or Garmin)
- Create a new league for you and your friends. Or join an existing league. We have several leagues to choose from:
- Bragging rights: Challenge your friends to see who is best
- Charity League (beat the pro): Raise money for your specific charity
- Charity League: Everyone plays for their own charity. Winner chooses where all the money goes
Points:
We integrate with Apple Health, Fitbit, and Garmin to track your activity throughout the day. Your fitness data is combined into a single score called "points". Since we track several different activities, you still have a chance of beating your marathon runner friend if walking or yoga is more your thing. League winners are decided based on total number of points at the end.
Points are calculated based on your daily activity:
- Calories burned
- Miles Walked
- Minutes exercised
- Flights Climbed
- Steps
- Wild Card: Something different every day
Why Charity games? We believe that dedicating real money motivates people. And, when you dedicate that money to a cause greater than yourself, we think its even more motivating. With our charity games, you aren't just going for a walk for your health, you might be raising money to help children, feed the homeless, or save the environment. What's more motivating than that?
Why the point system? We want everyone to play. We do not only want all-star athletes to win every league. We have tried to level the playing field, so that even those who are newer to fitness can compete - and maybe even win. We measure lower impact events like steps, so that more people can participate.
GoodStep uses HealthKit to read your activity data including steps, distance, flights climbed, exercise time, and calories burned. Similar data can also be synced from Fitbit or Garmin devices.
Downloading app is free! Bragging rights leagues are free, and charity leagues start at $10.
