My puppy Juniper, who is barely a year old, suddenly stopped eating and became very ill. After taking her to the emergency vet, we discovered she has Addison’s disease, a chronic illness we will have to manage for the rest of her life. In addition, she has developed a heart murmur, possibly due to the stress of her illness, or possibly permanent. While with medication she will be able to live a normal life, it also means she is vulnerable to flare ups which can happen quickly and be deadly. As this diagnosis is new, she has had several trips to the emergency vet recently to figure out the best treatment for her and manage her pain as we adjust to this new life. I am a disabled veteran with a limited income and do not qualify for the emergency vet’s payment program. Anything you can give would be immensely helpful and go towards paying off the debt I’ve accumulated trying to save Juniper’s life and give her a long, happy future.
