New Activities Building creates opportunity for campus community connections

The new Activities Building on George Mason University’s Fairfax Campus officially opened its doors on April 16 with a ribbon-cutting and community celebration. The 25,000-square-foot building provides versatile spaces for Registered Student Organizations, student engagement activities, the Green Machine pep band, and recreation. George Mason University partnership amplifies HBCU history and culture

Partnering with Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture and a number of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), George Mason is equipping a new generation of archivists, scholars, and museum professionals with hands‑on digital preservation skills to make hidden artifacts of Black history accessible to the public.
