RSS feed for new packages

Open zoggy opened this issue 4 years ago • 2 comments

From the page http://opam.ocaml.org/, one can access this page listing package update in opam repo: http://opam.ocaml.org/packages/index-date.html . But none of these pages provide a RSS feed for this information. The feed included in the page refers to the OCaml Platform blog.

It would be very useful to have a RSS feed for package updates.

And by the way, if could be useful too to have url of RSS feed provided in package descriptions and merged into a single feed provided by http://opam.ocaml.org/ .

I will note that there are not particularly good descriptions in most opam packages' metadata of what the package does; if one is trying to look at an RSS feed of packages to find new ones to use, it's not particularly easy.

But the name of the package itself is often enough to known what it's about, and it's better than nothing :-)
