GitLab supports the ability to automatically archive projects based on defined rules. This allows administrators to keep their GitLab instance lean.

Problem to solve

A GitLab instance with many unarchived, inactive projects can have cluttered project lists and search results. This leads to a bad user experience.

Proposal

GitLab supports a way to configure automatic archiving based on pre-defined rules.
