vim: dismissing buffer search can change cursor position #8048

Describe the bug / provide steps to reproduce it

  1. Search for an existing text on the current buffer.
  2. Press esc to dismiss the search dialog.
  3. The cursor position changes to the first match.

I'd expect the cursor position to not change.

Environment

Zed: v0.122.2 (Zed)
OS: macOS 14.3.1
Memory: 32 GiB
Architecture: aarch64
