Reproduction steps

  1. View edits in the git diff view.
  2. Notice that only the added or removed words are highlighted, but not the added or removed whitespace.

Current vs. Expected behavior

I would expect to see all alterations being highlighted, especially whitespace which can be easily missed and in certain circumstances cause unexpected issues if they aren't easily identified and corrected.
