  • Before adding new features and new modules, please go to issues to submit the relevant feature description first.
  • Write good commit messages and use the same coding conventions as the rest of the project.
  • Please commit code to dev branch and we will merge into master branch in feature
  • Ensure your edited codes with four spaces instead of TAB.

Summary of Changes

Hello @waruqi, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request addresses an issue in how toolchains are resolved for packages within the build system. By explicitly providing the host status when loading platform toolchains, it ensures that packages correctly utilize the appropriate toolchain, preventing potential build configuration errors. A minor formatting adjustment was also included in an SDK detection script.

Highlights

  • Toolchain Resolution Fix: The logic for loading toolchains for packages has been updated to correctly identify host toolchains by passing the host status to the platform.load function.
  • Code Formatting: An extraneous blank line was removed from the find_emsdk.lua detection script.

🧠 New Feature in Public Preview: You can now enable Memory to help Gemini Code Assist learn from your team's feedback. This makes future code reviews more consistent and personalized to your project's style. Click here to enable Memory in your admin console.

Changelog
  • xmake/modules/detect/sdks/find_emsdk.lua
    • Removed an unnecessary blank line.
  • xmake/modules/private/action/require/impl/package.lua
    • Modified the platform.load function call to include the host parameter, ensuring correct toolchain selection for packages based on their host status.
Activity
  • No human activity (comments, reviews) has been recorded on this pull request yet.

Code Review

This pull request correctly fixes an issue where the wrong platform toolchains could be used for a host package. The change ensures that platform.load is called with the correct host flag, which is a good fix. I've also suggested a small refactoring to improve readability. The other change is a minor whitespace removal which is fine.

While the logic is correct, this expression can be made more readable by introducing an intermediate variable for the loaded platform. This avoids a long chained call within the or expression and improves maintainability.

        local plat = platform.load(package:plat(), package:arch(), {host = package:is_host()})
        local toolchains = package:toolchains() or plat:toolchains()
