Guidance regarding PMID as Study ID #263

Description

@jwokaty

In February 2025, a study's PubMed ID became its Study ID if it was available. This has the following effects for downstream users:

  • In CSV files available from https://bugsigdb.org/Help:Export, the Study ID will be a study's PubMed ID if it is available. Otherwise, a Study ID will use the old format: the identifier "Study" followed by a numerical ID, e.g. Study 11.
  • For BugSigDbExports, commits after February 16, 2025 use the new format. Data releases available in the repository and on Zenodo prior to and including 1.2.2 use the old format.
  • For bugsigdbr, versions before and including version 1.14.x, by default use to data using the old format; however, newer versions of bugsigdbr and bugsigdbr::importBugSigDB(version = "devel") will use the newer format.
