When the pitch is rapidly adjusted the browser window freezes. The root cause is dragging the mouse pointer out of the window

Steps to Reproduce

Load the scatterplot website example, click and drag the mouse pointer outside the browser window. The whole tab becomes unresponsive and must be closed (switch to another tab first to get this to work)
