An idea/suggestion: It would be nice to have a collapsible main navigation/sidebar. Ideally this could happen automatically when the application's window is of a certain size or smaller, but (or and) having this be available via user action (ie. via the typical hamburger menu) could be nice too. This is mostly to allow for the application window to be smaller whilst still allowing for enough useful information to be shown, as the sidebar itself is mostly empty space and, at least in my case, almost never used.

This is a suggestion for the sidebar as it currently is. If it ends up becoming a header navigation bar as discussed in #156 this would of course not be needed.
