This is simply a monitr update that we need in the lab. Those mypy errors have nothing to do with this update so I am merging it |

Adding a new safe_write_mode to labcore. This creates a hidden folder to write the data while updating a public data file. Monitr did not care that a folder was hidden, so it was reading it anyways. This PR fixes that
