Description

@eljokun

Environment

  • TeXstudio: 4.8.5
  • Qt: 6.8.1
  • OS: Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC
  • TeX distribution: MikTeX

Description

Texstudio broke today with a 0xc0000906 error and many "entry point not found" errors. After a long process i found that using a portable version didn't work either, for which i tried disabling defender. It still didn't work, but after re-installing with defender disabled, it worked.

Defender is not flagging a specific detection unless you manually trigger a scan, and users may not be aware unless they scan the txs directory specifically.

The issue comes from Qt6Gui.dll, and a sample of the file has been submitted for analysis on the microsoft page to report the detection
