Astroid 3.3.13 Released – UX Improvements, Mega Menu Fixes, and New Layout Controls

We’re excited to announce the release of Astroid Framework 3.3.13. This update focuses on improving menu usability, touch-device compatibility, and overall UI/UX, while also introducing new layout features and updating several core libraries.

Our team has also addressed a number of issues related to Mega Menu behavior, accessibility attributes, and GSAP integration, ensuring a smoother experience across devices.


Highlights

Better Mega Menu Experience on Touch Devices

Navigation on touch screens has been significantly improved. Several issues affecting menu interaction have been resolved, including problems where users could not click top-level menu links or select submenu items. The Mega Menu logic has also been refined to provide a more intuitive experience for mobile and tablet users.

Improved Accessibility and Menu Behavior

We fixed broken ARIA attributes in submenu elements to improve accessibility and standards compliance. Additionally, the submenu interface has been refined to enhance usability and prevent unexpected behavior when submenu content is empty.

New Layout Controls

A new Section Height and Column Height feature has been added, giving developers more flexibility when designing layouts and controlling vertical alignment within sections.

More Control Over Animations

A new option allows developers to enable or disable the Stagger animation effect, providing greater control over animation performance and visual style.

Updated Core Libraries

Several important libraries have been updated to ensure compatibility, stability, and new features:

  • Font Awesome: 7.0.0 → 7.2.0
  • LenisJS: 1.3.8 → 1.3.18
  • Fancybox: 6.0 → 6.1

Bug Fixes and Stability Improvements

This release also resolves a number of smaller issues, including:

  • Fixed error where GSAP plugins could not be loaded
  • Fixed deprecated notice for null index in Row Class array

Mega Menu Enhancements

Navigation continues to be a core part of the Astroid experience. In this release, we’ve expanded the Mega Menu capabilities with new visual effects and configuration options.

  1. New Mega Menu dropdown effects
    You can now choose from several animation styles to better match your site’s design and user experience:
  • Fade
  • Zoom
  • Slide
  • Drop
  • Flip
  • ScaleY
  • Blur-in
  • Slide-scale

  1. Mega Menu Backdrop toggle
    A new option allows you to enable or disable the Mega Menu backdrop, giving you greater control over how dropdown menus visually interact with the rest of the page.

  2. Improved hover detection on hybrid devices
    Interaction events have been refined for devices that support both touch and mouse input, resulting in smoother and more predictable menu behavior.

  3. Removed stagger effect when animation is set to “none”
    When animation is disabled, the menu now appears instantly without unnecessary transition delays.


🛠 Fixes

  • Fixed Mega Menu width reset issue that could occur in certain layouts.
  • Fixed Video Background script issue where the background video would not initialize correctly.
