ReadyNow is a website that centralizes information and live updates about hurricanes informing users about when and where hurricanes will land, as well as how to stay safe in emergency situations. ReadyNow is split into three sections, 'Before, 'During' and 'After' a hurricane lands, each with corresponding information and alerts to the user's current state. The 'Before' section, consists of a safety checklist telling users how they can prepare for when a hurricane hits, a hurricane tracker that shows radar tracking of current hurricanes and tropical storms, an emergency plan generator that creates an emergency plan pdf for users, as well as local forecast data and alerts of the user's location. Next, the 'During' section contains information about what to do if the user is in an emergency situation during a hurricane. Finally, the 'After' section contains information about how to stay safe in the aftermath of a hurricane, as well as ABC News updates and reporting about hurricanes. Overall, ReadyNow is meant to be a consolidated source of hurricane information and alerts for users to easily stay informed and stay safe during hurricanes.

1. Does the project have any feasible application and/or have a social impact that goes above and beyond? Will this help the community with a real problem they are facing? Can this be implemented? Will people find value and use your project?

   Our project is practical and significant social impact, especially given the severity of the 2024 hurricane season. For our group specifically, our loved ones faced many devastating losses and their communities were
   destroyed. With the gradually increase in severity of hurricanes year after year, there is a clear issue that needs to be addressed, lack of preparedness and information. ReadyNow addresses this issue by consolidating essential resources in a user-friendly platform.

2. Is this project unique and innovative? Is it a solution or creation we have never seen before? A better way of doing something?

   This project provides a better way to prepare for hurricanes by consolidating all of the most important information necessary to stay safe and informed during severe storms.

3. What are our plans for expanding on the project in the future?

   In the future, we plan to refine the UI and implement location-based features that allow users to find local storm shelters and receive notifications about power outages and road closures in their area.
