Breaking Changes

  • Removed deprecated query fields: The following deprecated fields have been removed from the Query interface:
    • alias: Use SQL AS clause or Grafana's field display name instead
    • colNameFormatStr: Use Grafana's field display name feature
    • colNameToGroup: Use SQL GROUP BY with proper column aliases
    • timeShift, timeShiftPeriod, timeShiftUnit: Use Grafana's time range overrides instead
  • Query model refactored: Migrated from DataSourceApi to DataSourceWithBackend for improved performance and security
  • QueryEditor simplified: Removed "Alias By", "Group By Column(s)", and "Group By Format" UI inputs. Query editor now supports SQL-only flow.
  • Legacy dashboards removed:
    • TDinsight V2 dashboard (deprecated, use TDinsightV3 instead)
    • Monitor dashboard (use TDinsightV3 or taosX dashboards)
  • Minimum Grafana version: Now requires Grafana 8.0+

  • Enhanced SQL macro support: Added comprehensive support for Grafana time macros:
    • $__timeFrom: Replaced with quoted RFC3339 timestamp of range start (same format as $from)
    • $__timeTo: Replaced with quoted RFC3339 timestamp of range end (same format as $to)
    • $__timeFilter(column): Generates time range SQL condition for specified column
  • Improved query test coverage: Added comprehensive unit tests for SQL macro replacement and query model logic
  • Simplified backend data processing: Aligned with Grafana SDK's DataFrame best practices (LongToWide conversion)

  • Alert tag extraction: Fixed alert tag extraction for queries with grouped dimensions

Security

  • grpc vulnerability fix: Upgraded google.golang.org/grpc to v1.79.3 to address CVE-2026-33186
  • CVE remediation: Added replace directive for go.opentelemetry.io/otel/sdk v1.40.0 to fix CVE-2026-24051

Testing

  • Added unit tests for SQL macro replacement in query model generation
  • Enhanced test coverage for datasource query logic with 40+ new test cases
