However, if one sets the age to several 100 days, in order to retain backups for months or even years (optimally, the full lifetime of the phone), storing a weekly version becomes less useful.

How do you feel about
a) changing the current maximum interval to something like for the first quarter a version is kept every week, and / or only
b) introducing another interval like until the maximum age a version is kept every month.?
