While the platform allows artists to share their creations publicly, saving those images at full resolution is not always straightforward. Many deviations display a scaled-down preview in the browser, and accessing the original file often requires navigating through multiple page layers or dealing with download restrictions set by the artist. Right-clicking and saving frequently yields a lower-quality version or a thumbnail rather than the full artwork.

DeviantArt Downloader is being built to solve this problem at the browser level. The extension will detect artwork on the page, locate the highest-quality version available, and let you save it with a single action. For users who want to download multiple pieces from a gallery or collection, the planned batch mode will handle queuing and organizing files so you do not have to repeat the process for every individual deviation.

1. Install the extension once it is released from the browser extension store.
2. Navigate to DeviantArt and browse to any deviation, gallery, or artist profile.
3. Open a deviation page to view the artwork you want to save.
4. Click the extension icon or use the in-page download button that appears on the artwork.
5. The extension detects the highest-resolution version of the image available.
6. Select individual pieces or toggle batch mode to queue multiple artworks.
7. Choose a destination folder or use the default download directory.
8. Start the download and the file saves to your local machine at full quality.

Will it download images at full resolution? The extension is designed to locate and save the highest-resolution version of the artwork that DeviantArt makes available. The actual resolution depends on what the artist uploaded and any platform-level restrictions.

Can I download from private or restricted galleries? The extension will only be able to access content that is visible to your browser session. If a gallery or deviation requires a login or specific permissions, you will need to be signed in with appropriate access.

Does it support batch downloads? Yes, batch downloading from galleries and collections is a planned core feature. You will be able to select multiple artworks and queue them for download in a single operation.

Is it free? Pricing details will be announced closer to launch. SERP extensions typically include a free trial period.

Will downloaded files include metadata about the artwork? The plan is to preserve relevant information such as the artist name and deviation title in the filename. Embedding additional metadata into the image file itself is being evaluated as a potential feature.

This repository is distributed under the proprietary SERP Apps license in the LICENSE file. Review that file before copying, modifying, or redistributing any part of this project.
