ODX, Open Diagnostic eXchange, contains many sub-modules which expand upon the core of ODX for purposes such as diagnostic data, communication parameters, and vehicle topology to name a few.

OTX, Open Test eXchange, on the other hand contains fewer sub-modules but contain more extensions of the original rather than a full change in the format.

Both OTX and ODX are standardized using ISO-13209 and ISO-22901 respectively.
