Backport patch to fuerte release #124
Description
We recently tried to install ROS fuerte from source on OS X following the instructions:

The following bug + patch is applied in master, but did not make it into the fuerte release: #3
However, without that patch ros_comm does not compile on OS X. Can this patch be back ported to the fuerte release? How is the procedure for that?
