Steps to reproduce

1. Go to https://codesandbox.io/p/sandbox/hungry-feynman-rv5dlw
2. Click the "Change Index" button
3. You will no longer be able to type into the first <input>

The issue was not present in v7.54.2 and appears to have been introduced in v7.55.0.

Expected behaviour

Able to type correctly into the first <input>
