Definitely! The problem is that I'm not terribly interested in macOS myself, yet it's quite some effort (more than Windows, I'd say) to keep things up and running - and it looks like it's only getting "worse" recently. Not that app signing, notarization and that all are bad per se, but they are quite an overhead, both time- and money-wise.

I've been toying with the idea of spending all that effort and putting qutebrowser in the App Store for a small fee (which seems like something rather common, even for open source projects) - but if I don't want to "lose" money (nevermind time, of which there's never enough), it'd need to make at least ~66€ per month to offset the costs for the developer subscription as well as a hosted Mac which I currently get for free.

Don't forget us if/when Bruhin exists more, especially if it eventually has multiple employees 😀

For context, you mean Bruhin Software (Bruhin is just my last name, which needs to be part of the company name for sole proprietorship companies in Switzerland) - no big plans for that by the way, it mainly exists so I can give my pytest trainings and such. I don't necessarily subscribe to the idea that bigger equals better, I'd rather just keep doing what I enjoy doing rather than growing for growing's sake.

Also, for what its worth, I pretty recently bought an Apple Developer Program subscription for the first time for no particularly good reason, and would be potentially down to sign the binaries (and even ship to Mac App Store if it'd pass sandbox muster, and thats at all desirable);

I'd probably still like to push the binaries myself if producing them can be integrated into the current release automation - my main problem is that I have no idea what would even be required, or how much effort/overhead it'd take. If you can enlighten about that (or perhaps even contribute needed changes to the build scripts?), that'd be a first step.

It used to be the primary reason until about a year ago, because I was studying full-time living from savings, at some point with only some 2000 CHF to my name 😉 Nowadays it isn't really, but it's still more than I'd like (especially if you add similar costs for signing on Windows as well) for something that only benefits a very small fraction of qutebrowser users.
