Signing wheels does not actually help a lot, as there is no infrastructure for distributing the authors' public keys. For this reason, I am in favor of getting rid of the signing features until such time that they can be replaced with something that provides real security benefits. Keeping wheel sign could be even dangerous as it may lull users into a false sense of security, thinking they or their users are better protected if they sign their wheels.
