Hey @hugovk, Thanks for the PR! I think we're unlikely to release Requests 2.26.0 prior to urllib3 2.0's release. That may mean this PR sits unmerged for quite a while. We also have a standard deprecation process for this that will be done at release time to clean up any remaining deprecation items. I think in general we're less likely to accept PRs with cleanup tasks like this. |
