Not related to your change, but close by:

Where do "virtual packages cvome from" here?

Is that because system requirements are virual packages? Which is not "virtual packages" as in other package managers where those typially are packages with no files, just dependencies on other things... where in conda virtual packages are basically non-existent packages that declare some feature available on a platform.
