When i try to build image it hangs indefinitely
It hangs indefinetly specifically for @prisma/client and with --mount=type=cache,id=pnpm-store,target=/root/.pnpm-store

Here is Docker file:

FROM node:16

WORKDIR /usr/src/app

RUN curl -f https://get.pnpm.io/v6.16.js | node - add --global pnpm

RUN pnpm init -y

RUN --mount=type=cache,id=pnpm-store,target=/root/.pnpm-store\
    pnpm add @prisma/client

CMD ["echo", "end"]

I am curious is it a bug or why it is working like that?

If you try put instead of @prisma/client left-pad or delete --mount=type=cache,id=pnpm-store,target=/root/.pnpm-store it will work seamlessly.

The problem is with prisma postinstall script.
This fixed problem:

ENV PRISMA_SKIP_POSTINSTALL_GENERATE=true

When running the Dockerfile with docker build . --progress=plain the logs show

Interesting bit is that I could make it work with either

ENV PRISMA_SKIP_POSTINSTALL_GENERATE=true in the Dockerfile
or a different target (seems that any value works there)
