Description

The Discord typing indicator ("Xavier Clawdius is typing...") persists indefinitely after the agent has finished sending its message. The indicator stays visible to the user for 10+ minutes and does not clear on its own. This has been observed multiple times across different channels in the same Discord guild.

Reproduction Steps

1. Send a message to the agent in a Discord channel
2. Agent processes and delivers its response
3. Observe: the "is typing..." indicator remains active after the message is delivered
4. The indicator does not self-clear — it persists until a gateway restart

Observed Behavior

• Typing indicator stays on indefinitely after message delivery
• Occurs in guild text channels (not DMs — untested there)
• Reproducible across multiple channels in the same session
• Has occurred on v2026.2.23 and v2026.2.24

Expected Behavior

The typing indicator should clear once the message is sent, or at minimum time out after Discord's standard ~10 second window.

Workaround

Gateway restart (openclaw gateway restart) clears the stuck indicator immediately.
