Feature Request

Mattermost channel support lags significantly behind Discord, Telegram, and WhatsApp in terms of interaction quality. Several related issues exist individually, but there's no umbrella tracking for overall Mattermost parity.

Key gaps (some have individual issues)

• Markdown formatting degraded — headings, quotes, lists broken ([Bug]: Mattermost channel degrades Markdown block formatting (headings/quotes/lists/task lists) #12245, [Bug]: Mattermost channel wraps Markdown tables in fenced code blocks instead of rendering tables #12238)
• Reactions — partially tracked in Mattermost: support message reactions (send via message(action=react) + receive reaction events) #14305
• Inline buttons — disabled by default, no docs on enabling
• Threads — inconsistent threading behavior
• Typing indicators — not implemented
• Read receipts / presence — not leveraged

Proposal

A Mattermost-specific improvement pass to bring it closer to feature parity with Tier 1 channels (Discord, Telegram). Even incremental fixes to formatting (#12245) and reactions (#14305) would significantly improve the experience.

Context

Mattermost is popular in self-hosted/enterprise environments — exactly the kind of users who run self-hosted OpenClaw. The channel deserves more love.
