This PR (internal to my clone, not upstream) is a proof of concept that
join_me_maybe::join!can replaceselect!loops in nontrivial cases. This particular case was the focus of the Futurelock post, which is what motivatedjoin_me_maybein the first place. I have only checked that this builds, not that it actually runs or passes any tests. This isn't intended for review.
