In JAWS I have sounds for edit box, button, combo box etc. This means that I can hear the control's label and the control type simultaneously. I didn't think it would at first, but I must admit it really has sped up my productivity immensely. It is especially useful on the web where I have piano notes associated with the various levels of heading - I no longer have to hear "heading level 1", I just hear a middle C alongside the text.

I don't have sounds for checkboxes and radio buttons. I do, however, have sounds for checked, partially checked and not checked. If I hear something like "1 of 3" I know it is a group of radio buttons, and if I don't I know it is a checkbox. I hear one knock for checked, two for not checked and three if it is partially checked.

It is a huge productivity boost, although I admit it is not mission-critical - I can manage without it if need be. It would be amazing if NVDA had a similar feature at some point in the future though. I for one would definitely use it!
