While it is possible to set the sound level of speech output this setting appears to be ignored when NVDA outputs auxiliary sounds such as progress bar indication or browser input mode entry/exit beeps.
NVDA does! correctly use the sound card selected for speech on a multi-soundcard system when generating these beeps but the default system sound level is used for this.
