https://github.com/scipy/scipy/blob/main/pixi.toml is serving us well in SciPy and is starting to see increased use. Not only can it simplify and stabilise CI workflows (through tasks and lock files) and ease reproducibility and collaboration, we are also starting to explore how it can enable new workflows which have never been available in a standardised way (see scipy/scipy#24066).

It would be cool to see NumPy maintainers starting to reap the benefits of Pixi too. There is still plenty of work to do in SciPy like configuring automated lock files updates, but things are certainly in a position where NumPy could start following suit.
