problems since our testing frameworks would basically instantly execute and not grant the time it took to do the dynamic import that using it in the real world would allow us to do. I replaced it with a simplified and handwritten pair of matching flatten and unflatten functions that handle our specific usecase of just threshold files with no options or fanciness. the setup and teardown every time. Making it a one time thing fixed that. Additionally, removed the try/catch block since it in fact should not error out when trying to do the stuff in the test.
