Allow machine configuration generator #2004

Suggested new feature or improvement
It would be great to allow users to create and save to yaml their own machine configurations, without applying changes to the operating system.
Just as a sharing tool to create and share configurations.
Scenario
I need to prepare a course about Python and Node.js and I need users to install certain requirements., for example git, python 3.11, nodejs 20, vscode.
I can't find a way to configure a yaml file for them
