…y. Also refactoring junit and slf4j dependencies out of all project pom.xml files and moving into parent pom.xml file for easier version control in future, and rather than every project always having to add those dependencies

This branch is focused on migrating the logging from log4j to slf4j. Updating pom dependencies, source import statements, as well as making any api changes. Also cleaning up a few import statements in files where logging changes were made
