This is an issue with extraneous validation happening within the GeoServer admin console UI. DynamoDB datastores in GeoServer will work when configured through the GeoWave CLI which circumvents this UI validation. However, a fix can be applied to force GeoServer UI to treat it as a simple String and then translate it.
