@ameukam @hakman it looks like the newer ctr version isnt compatible with older distros:

I don't know if it's worth maintaining those old distros specially considering the uncompatibility with glibc.

@rifelpet @ameukam I agree, in general. But we need to deprecate them. I think there is also a plan to drop support for containerd 1.x soon.
In theory we could use statically linked binaries for containerd, but not sure if it's worth the effort.
