If I look up a word in my dictionaries, I can hold down and select a word or phrase, and the dictionary will perform a successive search for the selection. Each selection "creates" another search result; they stack up, and I can close each query to go back to the previous one (tested with up to 5 queries, I assume the limit is larger). This works similarly for the native Wikipedia search tool, except it stacks Wikipedia articles instead of definitions.
I think it would be super useful to be able to do dictionary lookups within Wikipedia articles, and Wikipedia lookups within dictionary entries. If I'm reading a Wikipedia article with unfamiliar terms, I don't want to go to a whole other article or receive no results when I select a word - I want to be able to see concise dictionary definition. Conversely, if I read entries from several dictionaries for a term, but still need context or want to dive deeper, Wikipedia lookup within the dictionary would prevent the extra step of having to select the Wiki search option from the top menu. Whether searching for a definition or Wiki article, it would be added to the stack, and you would be able to close the current result to go back to the previous result of either type.
I'm a person that loves to go on Wikipedia and etymology rabbit holes, and I don't want to lose my thread of searches in order to switch tools - I want my train of though to remain accessible whether it includes dictionary or Wiki lookups. Going back through my successive searches as I close them is a review of context, helping concepts stick in my head afterwards.
From the limited tests I did with successive dictionary and Wikipedia queries, responsiveness was not affected, so I don't see this capability being limited by hardware even if the query types are mixed. I suppose this is a niche feature, but it would be indispensable to anyone prone to learning rabbit holes.
