I saw a similar issue #11703, but it seems it's more about using user patch to support vertical display.
I think adding typography rules in gesture/profile is quite useful. Many documents do not have the correct embedded lang tags, e.g., documents generated from news downloader or wallabag could have wrong lang tag if the original webpage is not set correctly.
For CJK fonts, it relies on the typography rules to display the correct font variants. With the ability to set typography rules via gesture/profile, user could get the expected display without go through the menu to change the typography rules or setting different fonts for different languages.
Besides, most of the configs under typesetting menu are already supported by gesture/profile, it would be nice to support typography rules for function completeness.
