Does your feature request involve difficulty completing a task? Please describe.
Similar to the this issue I have auto sync enabled, love it when I am somewhere with wifi but I also often read in public transport. I often only get to read a few pages, so waiting for the wifi popup (especially since it sometimes seems to take way longer) becomes a frequent thing.
Describe the solution you'd like
An option to set a gesture to toggle auto sync would greatly alleviate this problem for me. Granted this opens the possibility for me to forget to reenable the feature again, but the alternative of going through the menu each time I commute has the same problem.
(It would be even more amazing if it were somehow possible to turn off auto sync for a certain amount of time, similar to how you can set the frontlight brightness or warmth in gestures.)
Describe alternatives you've considered
Since setting auto sync to only sync when wifi is enabled was deemed only shifting the issue I had hoped to find an option in the gesture manager to toggle auto sync. The only other kosync related options I found were for pushing and pulling progress.
Besides manually changing the setting via the menu each time I do not have wifi available I can only try and keep my device awake (as it seems to immediately disconnect on sleep) I could not think of other solutions.
Additional context
I am using release 2025.04 on a pocketbook verse pro.
Thanks for the great work, I really love koreader!
I do not have any experience with lua, but if anyone could point me in the direction of where the existing gestures for kosync are defined I would gladly take a crack at implementing this myself!
