I am an Iowa-licensed attorney with expertise in cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. I started developing this expertise in law school when I wrote my thesis Freedom From Fiat about crypto and international monetary rights. I later got involved in LexDAO in 2019 (Member of OC 2023-24), then served as a Protocol Specialist with Figment for 2.5 years where I developed a strong understanding of dozens of crypto protocols and blockchain governance. I later served as Protocol Counsel at a decentralized Ai startup called Ai Layer Labs, which is developing a blockchain protocol to secure decentralized computing power. I currently provide expert witness consulting to legal disputes where digital assets or blockchain technology is involved. I serve in this role as a McAfee Institute Certified Cryptocurrency Forensic Investigator (CCFI) through my company Blockchain Expert Consulting Inc.

These are projects where I currently serve in leadership and/or as an active contributor:
Blockserve is a provider of legally-significant blockchain services, including on-chain service of legal process. Service is accomplished via airdrop of soulbound NFT of process documents into wallets on supported blockchains controlled by parties that could not otherwise be reached by traditional methods. This service has been used to accomplish alternate service of process in federal court on multiple occasions.
I offer expert witness services through my company, Blockchain Expert Consulting. These services are provided in legal disputes where blockchain technology or digital assets are involved. My certification as an expert comes from my years of experience as a Protocol Specialist and my status as a Certified Cryptocurrency Forensic Investigator (CCFI) through the McAfee Institute. I also offer web3 strategy consulting and on-chain forensic services.
LexDAO is a guild that supports the development of legally-significant technology and legal engineering.
I have been a LexDAO Member since 2019 and served as a member of the Operating Committee from 2023-2024.

and was awarded the rank of OG Senvoy in the project's online community.
I worked for Figment for over 2.5 years, first as a Protocol Analyst and later promoted to Protocol Specialist and Governance Expert. In this role I developed broad expertise across dozens of blockchain protocols and achieved operational excellence in my development of the Protocol Offboarding system and Figment's official policy for engaging in on-chain governance. I attended multiple conferences, most recently delivering a talk at Nebular Summit in Paris called Staking: Modern Building Materials for Contracts about the intersection of law and smart contract technology. I also won the DevOps minigolf tournament.
In my time as a Protocol Specialist and as an expert witness, I have developed unique knowledge about the systems architecture and governance systems of multiple blockchain protocols. I have a deep, self-taught understanding of the following protocols:
