At the moment, one needs to define one control parameter file and one initial conditions file per element/model instance. This high level of granularity allows for maximum flexibility. Still, it results in much unnecessary overhead when one sets up a relatively uniform project, for example, consisting only of HydPy-L-Stream and HydPy-L-Stream model instances arranged in a regular grid.

We should think about alternative file formats that allow defining the values of the control parameters and conditions sequences of multiple model instances in one file, without losing the advantages of the current (executable) file formats.
