This may be controversial but it we're doing it. Having code formatting needs to be consistent and a non-issue during code review. I'm willing modify the configuration if people see a strong need, but formatting needs to be present and enforced.

In the last PR by @madhephaestus I noticed some tabs, but I didn't want to block that PR on them.
This is the result. I'm open to different formatting rules, but I want to not have to ask people to fix formatting. With this change it happens on every build and is checked in CI.
