What would you like to improve?
It would be helpful to be able to operate entirely without a Rakuten Kobo Account. Today, to run Kobo Sync, you still need a Kobo Account.
What's the current friction?
Booting up a fresh kobo device and replacing the config entirely would be easier to follow; but a kobo user account is required -- even if the books are hosted by Grimmory.
What would make this better?
Implement:
/v1/affiliate - needs to return back an affiliate name
/v1/auth/device - needs to return information for device auth which can be passed along to the sign in page
- Whatever the Kobo configuration
sign_in_page is set to - by default, https://auth.kobobooks.com/ActivateOnWeb - needs to have HTML that eventually redirects to a kobo authenticated URL (kobo://UserAuthenticated?params=here), which is easy if we have the kobo token embedded in the URL.
Anything else? (Optional)
